I know the post is old but was the pin gone or still in the piston? It's hard to tell with all the damage BUT since the ring is still pretty much where it should be it seems to have snagged a port like stated above by pat splat :) Dang

Fortunately I never owned a terrible triangle... Probably one more reason they banned them in the mid 80's...

Hello, I was actually searching for info on a 1972 Yamaha JT2 60 that I rebuilt and found this site. Can you tell me what all have you done to your engine? About 7 years ago I completely overhauled the engine because the bearings were all bad. I have honed the cylinder and installed new rings as everything else was already bored oversized when I got it. The absolutely insane thing about this cool
