depends on how good your roads are, where i live the roads are pretty nice, and i have some Mitas semi slicks under my Tomos that work like a charm, can also get them without the white wall
if sand is the issue, get some better tires under your streetmate, the semi slicks they come with are only good for clean and dry roads
nah I put a TopRacing crankshaft in there.
I see.. well time for a new head then i guess, what would be a good /normal/ compression?
2 actually, might have been a little too ambitious on the lathe, like I stated the head has been machined down to achieve a compression of 185 psi/ 13 bar, not sure if this is too much or not
alright i can make a video, but not sure on how to share it
Okay so I have this weird engine rattle that only occurs when the engine is hot, and nearing top speed or closing the throttle slightly to maintain speed.Does anyone have an idea what it might be? I'm guessing possible engime knock myself.Setup: 15.15 SHA with a 66 jet, short intake manifold, 65cc airsal kit, machined down 65cc cylinder head for higher compression (185 psi compression), and a
stainless steel exhaust build from scratch on my Mash Fifty
Why a 15.15? Spend some time and find yourself a 16.16 if you're gonna make it future proof. As for SHA spare parts, i found that the cheap replica's are great donors to rebuild an original.
so... why not balance the whole crankshaft assembly?
that switch is more likely for your lights, high beam low beam and off, unless it does have signal lights then im totally wrong
1200 would be alright if it was all original, near mint condition, and low milage
just replace the ugly switch with a chrome Puch Merit switch, is what i did on my Tomos, looks way better
puchshop.de and tomoshop.nl are run by the same people, i use both for parts for my A3(5)
i mainly use dutch sites, but i know some of them also ship international, one of my favorites is this one https://www.tomoshop.nl/?view=mobile&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpdCLyuCm6gIVR4GyCh1H3wNlEAAYASAAEgJGa_D_BwE
im not aware of this Treats parts, is it a shop? a brand?
50 dollars, thats what a good bare frame with a license plate would cost here (Netherlands), and this was/is a big moped country
i see, might look into that too sometime then, actually in the middle of building a replacement clutch, already relined the pads with leather and shortened the springs
do it some justice and find a proper Homoet exhaust for it, fits its age well
i have had no problems with stock Tomos throttles, other than my own clumsiness and breaking the plastic bits, little bit of oil and is smooth as butter, also fits on any 22mm bar
if it has one, its probably the condenser, if it doesnt, its probably the black ignition coil thingy refered to as the cdi, and there is a small chance its a bad spark plug cap
do you mean the black box that the spark plug ignition cable comes out of? Might be a slight language barrier then, we call that a bobine, its only a cdi here when there is some programmable logic going on in it
Targa? Tomos? Tomos doesnt have an cdi, just an ignition coil that might indeed short out and get damaged, either the black block coil thingy or the stator coil itself could be damaged, the latter is simple to test with a multimeter, should be around 270 ohms
sorry remembered the old style speedometer size, this one is indeed 60mm
it might just be the sparkplug wire or cap
like i said, go for a motor oil that is specifically made/doped for wet clutches, i use 10w40 motorcycle oil
is it a fresh carb? if not you might want to clean it, also, whats the intake manifold size?
