1. Re: Whizzer motorized bicycles for newbies?

Caleb Walker — 2 years ago

Just saying but, doing 50 on a 212cc engine is nothing impressive. Dudes with 4 stroke dirtbikes do that all the time. I have a 70s honda cb200 that will do 50 no problem. What everyone is saying is that throwing a lawnmower motor on your dumpy bike and going slightly below an average speed for that engine is not cool in the moped comunity. Besides it's not a moped, it's not even pedal s

I've had one of these things and here was my experience. Out of the box everything is quite chintzy and badly designed. After assembling it went about 25 mph in a moped like fashion it was light, legal, cheap, and fun. Compared to a moped however there was a huge gap. The moped was way more comfortable and everything about the moped was better. Better brakes better tires better suspension and

Hey moped army! Story time!I was working in my yard the other day when I heard the unmistakable sound of a two stroke motor. I jumped up from what I was doing and looked toward the road hoping to see a moped or at least a scooter or maybe an old shifty. Before long I saw a top tank moped go by. well over the last couple days, I have seen this same pedder go by riding several different bikes. some

Yeah man! Another Moto guzzi owner! So these bikes if I remember correctly, use the same clutch as puch. So whatever folks use in their puchs you will probably be good to use in this. I know that's general but its useful knowledge.

As far as jetting, I would probably try something in the eighties, maybe low nineties even... I think I had a mid to high seventy in a stock bike with a little port work exhaust and 15 sha. Jetting is bassically trial and error in a somewhat ordered fashion (to prevent seizing your engine). Start with something in the high eighties and low nineties and work your way down.

7. dirt bike forks on a moped

Forum: General Discussion
Hey there guys! Just bought a kawasaki kx80 parts bike off facebook marketplace and was wondering if anybody has experience with converting pit bike/motorcycle forks to mopeds? I kinda was thinking I will keep the 17 inch front wheel setup as well as the disc brakes. I believe I can get a street tire that will fit. I was thinking I could probably lathe a bearing race that would fit the kx triple t

Yeah make sure you get that carb tuned in. SHA's are usually pretty easy since they have only one jet that you have to worry about. Start by reading about the process in the wiki:https://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Dellorto_SHAand on other threads or whatever. Basically you will need to remove the main jet and insert a larger one. also, it wouldn't hurt to make sure you don't have any a

I wouldn't be surprised if you are getting week spark every time your bike warms up due to the old internal Peugeot ignition coil. wouldn't be a bad idea to do the external HT coil conversion. That said, the Le Partie CDI sure is nice... ;) It will treat you well if you go that route.

Ok so the "the best exhaust in treatland for max performance" is a really hard description to fill. really, you will see power gains with most Peugeot expansion chamber exhausts. that said, cost, ease of installation, and your goals become determining factors.Right now I'm running the simonini circuit pipe on my pug setup and I love it. this one has a pretty wide hard hitting powerb

16. Re: peugeot 103 update & question

Yeah man! that pipe is super restrictive from what I've heard. either find restrictions and cut em out or you could even put something like the derestricted stock sausage muffler on. once ya do that make sure its timed and jetted properly and you should be rippin pretty hard for the setup you got.I was rippin 38 - 40 on my stock cylinder, derestriced stock exhaust, a 15.15 sha, and good reeds

Yeah Graham! I'm sure that's right! I found two O-rings that fit on both sides of the shim one against the intake and one on the carb body. the more I think about it the more I become sure its the carb. so I think I mentioned earlier that the atomizer that came with it was the four stroke version so I went ahead and ordered the two stroke bushing and atomizer. when I went to take the old

My pipe finally came yesterday. I went ahead and mounted it and have been messing with the jetting and needle settings. I went ahead and dropped the main jet down to a 90 and it was way under powered and boggy and just ran hot and lean. so I worked my way up every larger jet and every richer needle setting it ran better and better. its got like an 118 main jet and the third from top needle setting

CHILL out guys!!! Its not that big a deal. But no, not really interested in a motor swap. I am pretty sure Its got either an sha 15.15 or 14.12 i forget now. it came with a 14.9 which was crazy restrictive and SLOW.Now as far as kit goes, ben was right on. they actually still sell this kit but it comes modified to fit garrelli.https://www.treatland.tv/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=garelli%2Dmaloss

Hey There! Wondered if anybody knows anything about kitting a Moto Guzzi moped. I have got one that I bought for $50 a long time ago. I have rebuilt the engine with new seals, bearings, and gaskets and have fixed stuff like breaks and lights. It runs great now and has for a good while.I have been batting around the idea of kitting it though. It pulls pretty hard and reliable for stock right now, p

hmmm... ok I am gonna do more research before I make a decision but i think I'll look around for a used pipe and a treatland discount code and if I don't decide to go with something better and more rippy and cant find a used g3 or something else cool for sale i'll just get the simo and play with that a little. I can always get something else if its boring... seems like allot of the
