I just sold my last NOS drive belt for the 81-82 Honda Express SR NX 50 scooter. From my studies of this bike over the last decade plus the drive belt on this model ONLY works on this model, no other similar model of honda, etc.I searched foryears for belts, no car shops have them due to the length/the cog of the belt, the V shape of the belt. I called a belt manf. and we spoke for a few hours o
Looking for parts for your Jap. made moped/scooter/motor cycle???This site has a lot of things that may be of help to you.http://www.cmsnl.com/
I had this bike for MANY years. Clearly EBAY is a place to watch all the time. But this site is the only one in my MANY years in owning this bike that helped with some parts...http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-nx50_model276/choose your year though the only diff is the Decals on the bikes in those two years.Anout 6 weeks ago some dude popped up on ebay with FOUR crate motors for these bikes, talking NOS,
I thought on this model the blickers would be grounding when you mount them on the bike? There is only one wire going into each one. Am I wrong??I took the gas tank off this spring too drain and clean, so all the back wires at the tail light came off before I could pull them. But it is all color cosed there is no way I have those wrong. I also had to replace the headlight. It worked last fall
My 81 Express SR when I hit the turn signal it flashes but the tail and head lights will flash some along with the signal being uses at the time. Even at night I can see the speedo light is also flashing with the blinker. Also why would one side of blinkers flash fine and bright yet the other side is slower blink, not as bright on that side?I have a new battery in it and the fluid level in it is f
I have a NEW OLD STOCK belt. Spare for my bike. Bought two of them a few years back.
Last fall when I parked my 81 Express SR all the lights and turn signals works. Head light, low and high beam. Brake lights etc....This year I would not start so I pulled tank and accidently disconnected all the light connection at rear taillight/blinkers. It's all color coated so not hard to reconnect. I cleaned up the grounds, put it back togther.I HAVE NO HEAD LIGHT. Bulb is good, bot
I have a miss/stumble at wide open throttle when driving my moped. It does not do it the first 10 min or so of driving, cold, and only does it on a flat run at wide open. If on a hill from a stop it does not miss/stumble, just on a flat run at wide open after it's up to speed. Off the line and up to 30 mph it is fine then it starts missing.
Soo do it like I used to do my old huffy bikes.
My 81 has not been laid down, not droped, but I can see that the front folks are a little bent or turned to the left a hair. Can this be corrected?
I think you are right. I can see the washer thingy when I deflated tire and looked in.
Never could get it off. Just pulled Muff, fender and cut the tire off!
Keep an EYE on Ebay and buy a carb that is complete and try it. That is what I did.
The ones from the auto parts place will not last long. I tried all that with mine. I suspect it will burn up on your sooner later, prob much sooner then a stock would. I looked and looked for over 6 months and found 2 OEM belts from a dude that ran a shop for these bikes in Italy back in the 80's. I am fairly certain that the belt on this bike is the only one of its kind. I even went to
I have a 1981 Honda Express SR. I just put a new back tire and tube on it. Now I have a HIGH SPOT in the tire, sticks about 1/4 further off rim, right at the valve stem. When I put the tube on I left one nut on the valve on the inside of the rim and one on the outside. Should I have left that inside one off?Next question is how do you get these tires off bikes? I had a HELL of a time getting
10 years? Hell this tire has been on since it left the Factory!
Didn't think to do it while the tire was on the rim. I will have to look at it that way. But taking the rim off I don't know how. I tried to put a ratchet to the bolt but between the rim moving on me and the bolt on there to hard it aint happening. How does one hold the rim in place with out screwing it up (scratch/bend).
Hey all. I have a 82 Honda Express sr that I have no clue how to get the rear rim off to replace the Tire. I would think there is a tool I need for this process??
Weeeeeeeeell I picked up another Clutch assmbly from another 81 and it is diff then the one from my 81. Sooo I can only think things changed at some point early in the making of this model. I know for sure, 99.9% that mine was orig to the bike.
wow, this thread is rough, ha ha
Can one bypas the self oil injecting part of a moped? Can you just plug the hose going to the pump and self mix you gas and oil????
Call your local Honda shop, I was able to get mine thru them, the manual that is.Sounds like your blicker (winker they call it in the manual, ha ha ha) switch may be out. It is located under the seat. Pull the center white panel and it is right there.
OK, for all of you that own the 1981/1982 Honda Express SR NX50.The clutch assmbly that goes over the shaft that does into the back wheel is DIFF BETWEEN THE TWO YEARS.I have 81 and bought one off what we (me and seller) think is a 82. The bearing set up in them is diff from one year to the other. Unless you look real close at them you don't realize it till you try to put it on. I can only
I saw the CDI's come up on ebay frequently this past summer. Right now there is NOTHING on ebay. Once the warm weather comes back you will see more stuff start to pop back up. I look at old car stuff also, even that is slim pickings on ebay this time of year, no oneis working on the stuff.
I know this is a MOPED forum but I am sure you all are into cars also. There is a Do It Yoruself Shop here in the Greater Cincy Ohio area. If you need to work on a car or bike, check out www.painterslane.comIf your join PLEASE PLEASE tell them when you join that the BLUE CAPRICE sent you that way I get some free bay time.Tim
W#hy not get a CDI off EBAY? Not so much this time of year but when spring rools around you wil see them pop up on ebay time to time. I woudl assume, not for sure, that these cdi's from any Honda bike fromt hat era ould work for any honda express.
I have a 81 Honda Express SR NX50 bike, 1981. My pulley on the back wheel, part of the clutch assmbly was all rusty and eating my belts. So I got anothe rpulley assmbly off EBAY that was from a 81-82 bike, they were not specific which year the bike was but this model of bike was only made in 81-82. Weeeeeeeeell I get the part and I try to put it on and the bearings on it are diff sized from my u
