Homoet Proma

Anyone on here ever run this pipe on a 70cc reed kit? (on the vdmpuchparts website) How is it compared to the standard Proma Circuit pipe from Treats? 25mm ID header versus the standard 23.5mm and a much fatter and shorter stinger. (Yes I know I would lose the center stand and have to aquire a side stand) This one pictured (edited)

Re: Homoet Proma

As long as your kit exhaust matched up to the 28mm header then you will see some performance improvement. Homoet is a great pipe company I would definitely trust in their quality. But a circuit is a circuit, and its performance is low to mid range. They usually top out at about 10k rpm. If you pair it with some smaller rear gearing it can get you some better speeds.

Losing a center stand is nothing to scoff at either. Losing the ability to start your bike on the stand can be tough. Especially if you are going to be tuning. I'm just speaking from experience.

I agree with all of this, but I always feel like most wet clutch bikes with a circuit fall off at like 8k, but I digress, still likely a very good pipe

Re: Homoet Proma

Andy, you are probably not wrong on where they actually start to fall off at.

Andy is correct. The proma I have on there now from Treats starts to quickly fall off at 8k. Then it's a gradual climb to 8.5k or so. It does have killer lows and banging mids for sure but definitely does die early

Re: Homoet Proma

Great pipe but you loose the center stand.

I had it on a Mag X and a Tri Rad and loved it. Its also not as high pitches and annoying as a standard proma! It sounds great.

years ago i made a puch proma into basically the same thing by shortening the stinger and welding on a 25mm ID header. I didn't really rip it much but it ended up on a friends polini and apparently it was pretty sick

@Cornped: how far would you say did yours rev past 8k? How was it on the lows and mids compared to the traditional proma?

Re: Homoet Proma

I have no idea. It was a circuit pipe so it didnt hit real high rpms. It was nice for low end power.

Re: Homoet Proma

To shift the RPMs on a circuit you need to make the header longer. But then that will mess with it's low end ability.

Re: Homoet Proma

I have this pipe paired with a polini kit, it's pretty loud, but I would say it's better than the normal proma I have on a different bike paired with a treats reed kit

Re: Homoet Proma

In which ways is it better specifically? I'm running a ported treats reed kit with 360 intake timing and widened/ramped exhaust and transfer ports so basically the Treats kit has similar power output to a polini. Does this pipe have more over rev?

The dos botanas has lots of over rev and is cheap. Sounds real good too. I got 10k out of it on an airsal 65 with 16/45 gear and bing 14. Mlm cali good too and sounds even better but expensive. Some say cali is go to pipe for Puch polini builds but I can’t speak from experience on that
