Advice on Athena 70cc small reed valve for Maxi

Daniel Kristensen /

Merry post-christmas and pre New Year fellow knights!

1. What porting mod have you done to yours Athena small reed cylinder? Need ideas ;)

2. In the Puch cylinder summary, it says the kit comes with the wrong piston... Can somebody elaborate?

3. Would a Homoet P6 exhaust make it a fun ride? I'm aware the exhaust duct must be larger (26 to 28mm).

Get this piston https://www.treatland.tv/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=puch-alukit-70cc-piston-45mm The stock piston has the ring improperly aligned. The ring will break the very first rotation. Never had a Homoet.Might be awesome.

The Athena small reed? I haven't built one in over 10 years but last time I did it was pretty close to perfect out of the box.

Probably Fred /

As well as changing the stock piston you need to change the stock metal reeds to fiber also because metal reeds can break. I raised the stock phbg intake with Tomos reed plates to clear the 2 speed Za50 engine hump and modded the intake to take a 15 mm Bing carb, I like the estoril pipe (Black carbon derestricted version) for instant power, no gaps in powerband.
