MVT premium CDI setup in 2021 - 103

anyone deal with these inner rotors since 2013?

**for a peugeot 103**

seems like alot of threads about 10 years ago with alot of issues.

unfortunatley i have one because HPI's sold out. ( and i didnt research )

any one have one ironed out for timing?

i read they may be Pre-retarded ~1.5mm and to set them at TDC to accomadate for it.

also the blue wire rev limiter is truth or not? (edited)

Grounding the blue wire should limit rpm to like 9500 or 9000 or something like that.

I think I just lined up the red mark on the flywheel to the stator and it worked (at TDC I believe, which is not the same as an hpi).

Just double check with a timing light before running it so it doesn't go boom. (edited)

Check with timing light so you don't blow a hole in yer piston.

I know even with hpi the marks aren't always right.

Well it's alive!

It fired up and ran. But doesn't kill.

In our haste to route the cdi box into the underseat compartment. We depinned the connector to feed the wires one at a time. We relied on color to repin but they're not color to color. Lesson learned. Take photos.

Can someone give a Pin Out of that connector?

When I set mine up, no matter what motor, the idle is high as fuck. Then all of the sudden it’ll drop and not spin fast enough to keep idle constant. Motor dies eventually after dropping into the low rpm mode. Super shity I can’t get this top of the line ignition off of the shelf. I’ve sent it packing from 0 to 4mm BTDC and same low idle condition continues. I’m going print out your diagram and see if I was chasing my tail all those days but I promise I’ve tried everything. Good topic, fucked components?

Hopefully i can get my radiator mounted. and get alittle more into the idle and tuning. mines set at TDC assuming its preset to be pre-retarded 1.5mm. and i a ran it for a few seconds without any water and seemed ok.

all in good time. ill keep updates
