Installing a fan on a magneto

I want an air cooled av7 and gonna start a thread for my build.

Anyone done this yet? Will have full shroud. As long as the bolt holes line up I can make a shroud for it too.

Re: Installing a fan on a magneto

Get a shroud

Get a rectifier

Tap off your lights

Powers fan

Point at motor

Just start fanning stuff, be the pioneer

Totally normal JBOT /

Get a scooter flywheel fan and tap and thread the flywheel to mount it.

I did that like 10 years ago. It sucks shit.

Doesn’t do much of anything.

These engines don’t make enough electrical power to make it work.

Re: Installing a fan on a magneto

How big of a fan would you need?

There are modern ignitions with beefy lighting coils; my puch powerdynamo puts out 100W, and even a stock tomos one can be an 80W unit.

Do what I did and put a Minarelli V1 on your Motobecane frame and boom fan + shroud

What they said V1 style. (edited)

Maitland that's what I was thinking. Do you have any pics?

This is the most recent one I found on my phone

The true irony is I run no fan and a gilardoni kit rofls
