Old bump but I finally got around to trying to use the Parmakit box with my Kinetic CDI. I have a huge fat spark, and the size of the box is great. I was actually able to fit everything in my headlight bucket.
But, no start. I did not touch my flywheel, it was already timed to 1.5-1.8mm BTDC with the kinetic CDI box, I ditched the woodruff key a while ago because the timing was way off without it. I thought I would be able to just slap this Parmakit on and go, am I wrong? Does the parmakit box interpret the signal(s) from the stator differently, and thus I need to retime with the parma?
I really don't want to take the engine out rn, but fuel, and compression are good so.. and this engine was running fine with the kinetic box.
Anyone made this same swap and needed to retime entirely?
