Wheel stuff

None of those:

Put light ass spokes on it. Mags are heavy. If you cross an alleyway or building opening on a windy day those three stars will work as sails and drop you like a hot rock. Five stars are weak unless they are the 16” ones with better webs. Best mags are 17” laser or Foxi Baron which are true magnesium

Re: Wheel stuff

Lace up a modern aluminum rim to a sealed bearing rear hub using thicker motorcycle grade spokes. Grab the front spoke disc from treats. Boom, light and strong.

No 5 stars are Way stronger then spokes same with snowflake mags. I’m 205-210 Lb, trust me I know, when I hit a pothole I turn most Puch spoke rims into a figure 8 but ya if you’re running stock and want to go a little faster spoke rims are a little lighter then mags

Re: Wheel stuff

Modern spoke wheels, like those found on mountain bikes, are stronger than old Puch mags. And lighter. There isn't a debate it's a verifiable fact. Lace your hub to a mountain bike wheel and blast

Re: Wheel stuff

I'm worried about strength less for pot holes but more because I'm hoping to take corners at mind numbing speeds. Does that change anything for you guys?

Re: Wheel stuff

Look what dirt bikes use.

Re: Wheel stuff

The alloy rims treats has are strong, lightweight, and shiny. I have a 17s on my Lazer, and 19s on my Testi with a Minarelli P4.

They both have 11g spokes, and I converted them to sealed bearings.

They're stronger than any mag out there, and if for some reason they do bend, you can re-true them. Bend a mag, and have fun bending them back.

Laced right, a modern spoke wheel will out perform any moped mag.

And btw, where the hell do you get mountain bike rims that'll fit a moped?

16” moped tires fit on 20” bmx rims

Re: Wheel stuff

Yeah, and there are some high quality double wall bmx rims out there, but 20" mountain kids bikes are all Chinese trash.

Eew. I bet you throw 20inch bike tubes into your moped wheels too.

Re: Wheel stuff

No, but I put 19" motorcycle tubes in my 24" bike wheels.
