yes, i hope so.

i think this 50cc cylinder was about 8-9hp, cornering speed was as high as the other riders with 70cc, accleration and topend was much lower.

next race, on the same circuit, is on 8 may

engine is now out for rebuild, crank bearing spun in the case :(

Oops nr 2, destroyed a spark plug

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

Dang man. Killin it out there.

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

Why not build a fan and shroud. Lower temps probably see gains.

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

40:1 seems pretty lean for a race bike. I run klotz benoil in my Minarelli V1 at 20:1 for racing. I know it's a totally different setup, but still...

more oil is more heat. inspected the cylinder yesterday after a day of racing, nothing to see, everything in great condition.

After 4 sessions on 40:1 mix. Addinol 2 stroke oil, special oil for air cooled engines.

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

the little spots on the piston are from the broken sparkplug, nothing to worry about

What brand spark plug breaks like that ?

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

That cylinder looks perfecto still.

it is indeed. But you have to keep in mind these are 10mm sparkplugs. They have a much thinner wall then the 'normal' sparkplugs. ( I am Sander his brother, I tuned the cylinder. ;))

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

Fantastic work on the exhaust port pictured. May I ask what size oiling holes line up with the exhaust bridge?

Mitas MC18 tires are replaced for a new set of Bridgestone Battlax BT39ss tires, soft compound, more grip ;)

I've got a little problem...

last thursday i had another training session. We were racing mopeds and pitbikes in the same class. In the third session, someone with a pitbike fell directly in front of me. My puch (and i) flipped over.

Not very much damage on the moped, only a broken front spoiler.

WhatsAppImage2021-05-13at15.52.36.jpeg

only my wrist was hurting a bit. it was ony getting worse, so we decided to go to the hospital to make some pictures. yes, a damaged bone in my right hand.

WhatsAppImage2021-05-13at19.39.22.jpeg

So the next weeks no racing, i have my arm in a cast.

short video, i'm at 0:04

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

After all that?

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

Damn pit bikes! Stupid groms.

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

That just plain rocks!

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

Sidebleeed wins races

Big intake

3 transfer ports

Single ring piston

High compression

Good cooling

Is it a mud track?

Gasoline and pecock are located next to a hot surface (edited)

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

I'd be more worried about a crotch full of burnt oily fuel than cooling problems.

This is what I though about too. I feel like it is aimed right at where my head would be in a tuck, and would shoot exhaust right up into my helmet.

But hey sander is light years beyond where I am with track racing so I really know nothing and can not comment on anything about performance.

Re: Puch maxi Track toy

Tough break (no pun intended[well maybe a little]). Hope you’re back to it soon. Your work has been so much fun to follow. Just don’t get too antsy and end up hurting yourself more!

haha, thank you, i will try.
