I'd like to try an open transfer Gila, I've contemplated making the alteration time and time again but have never pulled the trigger.
This is my 70+ MPH cylinder, nothing crazy to look at but its fast. Very nice case match, cylinder is pinned to the case, cases are pinned together, everything has been squared up, cylinder skirts matched to the transfers in the cases. Port timing, port area & volume all modified. Squish, piston height in relation to the exhaust and transfers at BDC all corrected. Just a well put together engine.
Port timings are 192 exhaust, 130 main transfers, 118 auxiliary transfer, 152 intake, giving it 31 blow down. Main transfers shooting up 12 and auxiliary transfer shooting up 45.
