Garelli noi with cev ignition pietcard swap.

Okokokokokokokokok....ok. so. I swapped out my points for a pietcard cdi. I actually read all of the cdi stuff I could find on here, in general and specific to the pietcard. Found a halfway decent timing spot after trying a few different of the ways listed to time these cdi setups. Looks like it prefers close to 2.0mm btdc. I am hoping this will still be an ok place after what advancing may happen at higher rpms. All of this matters little though, since I can not keep my flywheel from spinning out of the timing position.

This is my first attempt at this and after reading some other posts on this picked up some valve grinding compound and turned the wheel onto the shaft, making sure my timing doesnt change. Helps that I am using a timing tool and not just a depth gauge on some calipers. I tighten it all down really well. Honestly tighter than I normally would. I could probably crank it on a little tighter, but I am using a piston stop and dont want to damage the piston putting too much pressure on it.

How much of this compound should I be using? I have put enough on the shaft for it to be visible but not globbed on and none really on the flywheel itself, as I figured what is on the shaft would be what is needed.

Any additional thoughts or help? I know folks go this route often and dont have it slip every time they take a ride down the block.

Did you get the pietcard coil?

If not just get a KTM50 stator off eBay

I have the green 3003/03 coil and the 2013 box, with the 3213e ignition coil.

The spark and actually timing is no longer the issue. Need to re-read the lapping procedure.....
