So I ordered the small case half, I'm bent on trying this one way or another. I have no doubt I could drill a nice little hole in one of my stock cranks . . . . but the concern is then that I will be pushing way too much RPM for not having a needle bearing crank lol. Worth a try? Maybe. But probably not. Better just to do it right.
Although that pinasco crank that they link is like $300, mazzy also makes one that is only 145 ... but its out of stock (https://www.treatland.tv/mazzucchelli-vespa-12-pin-special-race-crank-p/mazz-vespa-crankshaft-amt204.htm).
If/when I can get that . . . I would be looking at only about $225 total, and an extra carb and filter I already have lying around. And a lot of jets for tuning. I think this is totally doable. And how fun would it be to tune the second carb to kick in later in the throttle pull!?!?!?!
