Is the friction material on the shoes too thick and not letting it fit in the hub? If not, then you have a burr or rounded edge on either the bell or hub mating surface
The thickness of the shoes are different. 1st gear shoes are smaller u might have them mixed up. Second gear shoes are thicker. When u fit second gear on the hub the inner part of the shoes should fit over the inner bell shaft.
No guys trust me i looked really close the shoes hadnt even met the bell yet and it was jamming tight as a vice. I forced it in once. The shoes were far away i had sanded em a lil to much at first. It was jammed once it was in. I had to use vice grips to bite down carefully and pull and smack the bell on the floor to get it loose. I was pissed by then because i sanded the shoes down low i looked at em and was fuming pissed. 75$ for that assembled from treatland. I don't know what is going on why 2nd is jamming. I might chance it buy another pre assembled 2ndgear with shoes from mopedjunkyard. Could sanding the hub by hand like a mad man help it fit into the bell???
just sand till it just slides in, if u have a drill u can tape on a strip of sandpaper and make your own flapper wheel, mo0peeds
Pull the shoes off the Hub put some stick on sandpaper in the clutch drum with the sticky side to the metal then slide the shoe back and forth on the Sandpaper so that the radius will match the shoe and make it fit then taper the toe in the heel of the shoe with about a 42-30 degree radius on the ends and install.
If you're still having problems find some old mannequin arms and attach them to a ceiling fan put fan on high speed.
And experience the Bliss of one hand slapping or was it clapping anyway it'll wake you up
Believe it or not pat it worked! Sanded in a circular motion on the inner area and it went into 2nd gear hub on the bell. Spins in fluid motion. Must of been a burr in it like a35 mentioned but its together and on the bike. Shifts great runs great thanks for all your help.
Poo poo pipe
Hopefully the drum wasn't just egg shaped cuz it got dropped on the floor you'll find out soon as you start the bike if it is egg-shaped
