Bando.
Hands down best quaity for bulk standard size belts. Very precise width across its full length, dayco and gates are nowhere near the quality.
These bando belts seem to have tolerances of around +-.1mm (.2 total)
Others vary from gates with +-.3mm (.6 total) or dayco which has the worst at around +-.5mm (1mm total wtf?)
And funny enough the treats hobbit belt is bando too. Well I'll be.
It has amazing tolerances as well.
So yeah. Bando rules.

My French setups are amazing now with the variator brake. Minimum spring, rev out without using your foot. Amazing stuff.
I'd like to find out who manufacturers Doppler and polini belts. Pretty sure polini has used bando belts and rebranded them
I’m a big fan of the fast arrow belts they used to sell for hobbits, I have a few of them on the shelf if I ever get another.
I'm having the best luck with Dunlop chloroprene bx40's on shimmed tjt/gy6 pulley setup. Some bikes/variators only accept an ax40 like polini variator/stock rear pulley. I usually get 2500-3500 miles per bx belt on a 65mph bike.
The variation in belt thickness is interesting I'll start paying more attention to that. Non of these belts truly match the cheek angles either but hey,it's just mopeds.
This belt is like 5/16” thick.
