Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

Well I said screw it and I'm going to do it... That's right I'm going to put this monster 80cc big port Puch metrakit on my Tomos.... I'm pretty stoked..

Here's what I did last night..

Tore down my a35 engine and split the cases.. I will be installing a super stuffy racing crank with a wisco Conrod bushing new seals and bearings and going to give this a shot... I've searched on here looking for someone else so I can see some results but every time it results in a dead-end... I'm hoping someone can China inn and Link me to a Fred where somebody has done this because I know they have and I could read some information about the results... It's either going to rip or blow up but I'm willing to chance it... If everything seems to go good I will put a better electrical system on but Tomos electrics are pretty good... I know there's a quite a few post of Tomos with the Gila kit but I thought I'd give this old beast a try...

Don’t forget your clutches are meant for a chainsaw basically. You’re going to be grinding to a halt in no time.

Make sure you got enough meat left on the edge of the case or it will crack I needed to add material with a tig...

Totally normal JBOT /

Tomos don't like too much power thrown into those balsa wood gears

Re: Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

We just slapped an airsal kit on my buddies a3, absolute beast now but wondering the longevity of the clutches and gears.

A3 is a way more durable engine then a35 or a55, clutches are asbestos lined.

Yeah he’ll get a day or two of use after it’s tuned in,

Your mod your gear set by getting aa35 clutch hub and slot it to run a 3 shoes you flip the pins so it opens towards rotation so it actually bites into it like Pac-Man and you make sure the leading tow is angled right and if your Swift Enough you put JB Marine weld epoxy with filler powder preferably plastic or even the metal compounds I mean you could just take a whole bunch of brass screens and break them up into the wires and then mix them in with the J-B weld on the toes so that way it actually really just wears the tips of the shoes but it's going to run like a demon it'll pull itself right out from under you

By the way you'll probably not get past three quarters of a throttle without being scared

Re: Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

I have two sets of asbestos clutches I ran in my last set up... A treats hand the jammers and this is the longest I've seen them in stock... Actually bought two of them a few months ago.. I also just bought the BK 100 MLM pipe...

Treats has had the Jammers in for a while this time... I bought two of them a few months ago and I run purple power... So I have a spare on hand...

These looked like cork, had to replace the 2nd gear shoes as they were coming apart a bit.

Re: Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

I'm still waiting for my new seals to show up and Next I will be attacking the intake... I went with the MLM mikuni vm24 piston Port intake from treats... I figured that's one good intake where I could start... I know that my engine is slanted and the e50 isn't so I'm going to have to modify it... It'll be nice if I don't... Worse comes to worse well I'll just cut it and add the rubber adapter... But I sealed the cases because I just had to see what this monster would look like... Oh my goodness!!

It's real nice!! Here's a picture the puch 80cc angled Port metriakit on a Tomos a55 engine!!

brother from another mother :D

Re: Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

Oh my goodness!!!?

It looks great man...

The only thing is... Your intake is not going to clear the frame unless you're putting it on something other than a Tomos...

When you measure for that intake... You have to measure from the numbers on the engine block and you only have 3 inches....

Re: Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

it fits

Re: Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

Did you run it yet?

What pipe you using?

How is the performance?

I'm using 80cc big port with bk100 with jammer clutch

yes, click on my profile

Re: Gearing up to Install 80cc metrakit on Tomos a55

Found an old video of my metra tomos. Used a55 cases, and a35 internals since they are way stronger. So much torque left the clutches quite mild. Definitely was pretty damn quick for a tomos.
