I'll agree with that^ . I've not seen very many 2T pistons with no ring pins .

i think solex dont have pins as well. Yes to where the pins r located is the main issue with piston direction. If u have a piston that is symetrical on both sides no cut-outs, no differences, u can flip it any way u like as long as the endgap arn't in a port. say on a vespa, u go nuts on the exhaust port but the dam ring gaps are on the exhaust side, try flipping the thing, if the end gaps hit cylinder wall and no ports your good.

Vespa is probably the number one example where you cannot do that.
