Malossi Peugeot 103 SP/SPX/MVR Engine case on Motobecane

A few places that sell this engine elude to being able to use it on a motobecane with modification.

Anyone ever seen it done or know what needs to be done? I only ask because I get good prices on Malossi stuff and I rather like their gear.

They have like 3 one is the MVR version which uses a special crank? or can you use regular SPX cranks in it?

then the SPX 57 6548

then the SP 57 5208

I don't know what the difference is between any of them

It can be done. Ur gonna need to reposition the swing Mont thingy to the head and figure out the spring too.

Maybe a Moby head would fit I dunno.

You could also just build an av10

Moby head fits on pug stud pattern sideways.

Re: Malossi Peugeot 103 SP/SPX/MVR Engine case on Motobecane

Could add a couple of u joints and a PTO and rock it sidewards

Re: Malossi Peugeot 103 SP/SPX/MVR Engine case on Motobecane

Iirc the mvr cases are Peugeot cases that have a moby stud pattern, so you lop off the mount on the cases and boom mounts to a moby. The spx and sp cases are the regular malossi cases. The mvr is the one with the special retained seal and takes the larger 20mm crank shaft. You would also need to source/machine the correct variator and I think the pulley spacing may be an issue as the mvr frame has the pulley shoved pretty far out and the variator flipped.
