Tips For Starting Decom-less 70cc 103's?

Do you have a trick?

Stock vario with 3 balls removed

70 kit

46mm Parma head no dcomp

mannnn its hard to get it to turn over, I have some pretty built 50cc motors that turn over like nothing, I figured I'd get away with it on a mild 70 build, hard no

On Mobys I always run er3's, cardboard trick and Im good to go, but not the case with this 103, sooo any tips and tricks? Or should I just skip that next PBR and get in better shape?

You trim the starter shoe pads yet? That made the starting action a lot more aggressive for me. I removed about half of them (edited)

no I didnt, I was under the impression that this made the grab "softer" so I thought it would make it harder, Ill have to give it a try!

I would also think it would make it softer but I think it ends up requiring more rotational speed to get them to lock up and thus put more ass into the starting. It's kinda rough and definitely not as friendly as stock but it seems to work well.

Dude thanks for the advice! I just finished up the motor and this mod worked great

Heck ya!

The clutch mod is crazy. I can hear when the shoes hit the clutch bell on mine. I had to use the decomp before I did the mod. Now I don’t have to at all.

ya, you can totally hear that in the video, my other 103 is 50cc and doesnt seem to need this mod

the other odd thing about this bike is the variator, the weights are welded to the clutch? On the others Ive seen they were just bolted on, so I had to remove these and grind them down, once the snow is gone, cough cough in 4 or 5 months I can tune this beauty
