Hey y'all I'm looking to upgrade to a new carb/intake for my 70cc kstar PP kit. What size/brand carb and intake would be best for both off the line pull and top speed? I have a Puch Maxi e50 with Boss pipe and 18/42 gearing

Do you do any reading or searching here ?
No hi rpm boss pipe , no kstar kit that needs base spacing and then cylinder decking a as well as dremeling to get the pipe header on.
Get a Circuit or estoril pipe, good low type pipes not a boss hi rpm pipe that needs to be cut apart and a piece a header removed out of it and has no low end,
Get new fin design dmp Type 70cc kit, 14mm bing and intake, mesh filter for easy tuning, run a temp gauge, stiff clutch springs, and read this So you run: don’t blow up your stuff,

Check out the people that do two-stroke Tuesdays in cleveland area on Facebook they may be some help,
He already has a kstar, and the boss is fine. Not ideal especially if your running a stock crank. I recommend 17/45 gearing at the tallest unless you never see a hill then your gear ok. I would recommend a 19phbg and the little cheapie square port intake, it fits under the side covers and you can squeeze the mallossi e12 air filter in there too. The only bummer is you have to remove the intake to change jets and it could stand to be lapped on the flange.
Ok I'm gonna get the 19mm phbg and 19mm square intake then. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!
Went with the estoril pipe and ditched the boss. Also did some base spacing with 3 base gaskets from treats so the piston will clear the exhaust port & transfers. Also opened up/widened the exhaust port just a bit (like 2mm or so) and geared out to 18/42. Using a 15mm bing carb with matching 15mm Grandpas intake with 78 jet, needle on leanest setting with metal mesh hi-flow filter (edited)
Did you do the clutch springs? It’s a huge improvement for an E50.

Yes I did the clutch springs and it now engages fully around 22-23 mph.
