That's a good idea! I was actually going to buy a different Vogue from Blake and rebuilt it at the rally before Saturday's ride. I wasn't going to bring any bikes just tools and a list of parts. There wasn't enough room to do so at the last rally spot though or I would have. If they had the same spot as last year I would have.

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

That was a fun phone call.

Stephen: Eric, so hear me out on this. ...What if we just went to the rally and tried to get these bikes running well enough to do the rally ride.

Eric: Your feeling nuts. I’m bring my Dart.

It would have been fun if there was space.

LOL, I'm not giving up on the idea!

Been swamped for the past month and I finally had time to mess with this bike!

So who knows why when I wiggled the wires it was cutting out. Was it a lose connection? Idk

The magnet is an interesting thing. It was broken right where the sensor would pick up the plate. Was it causin a wired polarity issue? Idk.... I removed the piece that was broke and made a new wire for the trigger. It runs great now but it is dumping rain. I leave for a week and can’t wait till next Monday to try it.

One down one to go. The left side is stuck AF! But it will be nice to have shocks on the front.

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

I would just try eBay but I'm sure you all know that... Now you won't get OEM decals... But there's people on there who will make you whatever you want and whatever font you want.... You just type in personalized decal... There's one particular person who makes helmet decals and they come out perfect... 2 for $13.... Free shipping... It would look good with some 90s colors...

I got one but I am so worried about fucking the other one beyond repair! I can get it to pop a little with a big pry bar. Buttttttthen the forks bend. Ugh I should have taken it for a speed run before I started this.

Oh well worse comes to worse I can weld then together and have the ridiged I thought it was :)

After about 10 hours of fucking with this thing I got it loose! I sanded the shit out of them and greased them up. They work awesome! Suspension is a wonderful thing.

Painted the bars too.

New bar configuration made me more aero. New top speed! I know it has more but I was just riding it around the neighborhood. I kept running out of road when it was really winding up. I think I have the CDI is fixed. But now I have to address the damn carb! I hate SHAs with a passion. Throttle is sticking and it won’t idle for shit. I’m going to have to try and stop the air leak at the intake of the carb. Time to play with some Orings and such. I was talking to Stephen on the phone and I kicked it over and it started screaming wide open! He got a good laugh.

Hahah you know you did. At least it did not fly across the yard.

LOL, I know right! That would have been my luck.

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

Acetone and ATF mixed together makes wonderful penetrating oil

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

Interesting...I used about 1/2 a can of BP Blaster.

Left the neighborhood and rode to the store today and I got 40! Bike runs strong. The mids a surprisingly responsive. It was constantly hitting 38-39 on most roads but a bit of a longer stretch got me to 40. Now take it these are city stretches with stoplights and stop signs but the engine sounds like it is about done winding out at 40. I can’t be more happier with it right now. I still want to play with the exhaust cone holes. Try one open or all 3 and see what it does. But it feels fast and gets there pretty quick. Definitely a mid pack bike at a rally.

I almost forgot. The bike was impossible to get to idle. You can kinda see the reed on the left is stuck open 1/32 of an inch. The Tomos reed block was swelling too much. I went with just a stock pug single flapper. I sanded the intake it was surprisingly not that flat. I made a gasket for the top because the stock gasket would not seal. You can see how the holes in the intake are square. I also had to drilled 2 holes in it that are not in the picture so the screws had somewhere to go. It idles awesome now. I also put a smear of oil resistant RTV on the shim where it meets the clamp area on the carb. It was just the smallest amount so it would not make a mess and and do it’s job. I wasn’t having any luck with orings or even the ones that come in a rebuild kit.

Well my HT Coil went bad. Only 3rd time it has ever happened. Slapped an Olympia Coil on there and it fires right up. I guess it will be fine mounted with one bolt like this. If it vibrates loose I’ll make a bracket. Little red thread locker and it should be fine. This is my new favorite bike. So much fun to ride. Take off is about as good as my Magnum X with a 3 shoe clutch with black springs. Maggy X has a 70 kit with all lightened internals too. So I am happy with it. As soon as I ditch the starter shoes it will be even better. The modded shoes still hang when I decelerate and I kinda have to blip the throttle to get them to slip. I still need to mess with the exhaust some more to see if I can squeeze another mile an hour or two out of it. It is definitely upper 30s all the time and gets there quick. I need to make a quick riding vid but I keep forgetting to grab the GoPro. If RideN chatter happens I’ll definitely bring this bike. Otherwise I’ll take it to swoops for sure!

And check out that red box... (edited)

Maybe use a longer bolt and add a lock nut on the backside . Never come loose .

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

Kevin Bishop /

Nice porting Steven. Are those finger ports lower than the mains? I have seen similar exhaust done on shiftys but way more aggressive.

Thanks Kevin! The finger ports are even with the mains and angled slop upwards to help shoot mixture up into the cylinder. I started to go more aggressive with the exhaust but I had to keep reminding myself that I'm single speed.

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

Eric your bike is sick. But Stephens bike rips and is so fun, he's lucky I came back with it

I litterly went out for a quick rip. I noticed I had a bit of an exhaust leak. Put a new gasket and went around the premiere of my neighborhood. Hit 47! Fuck! Was this thing flying. Scary thing is it was 4 stroking when it hit 47.

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

fuck yes

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

To be continued....

Re: Buzzards vs Barons Vogue Single Speed Build Off

It was really windy today which didn't help any with me being fat but we went on another speed run and she got a little faster!

I just moved my seat back a few inches.

Damn Stephen put your son on it and send him on a rip! I bet we put ours at a rally and they would be side by side!

I need to paint my rims but I am toooooo Lazy (edited)
