Where to buy super tight mandrel bends

I have always cutting up bicycle drop bars for intakes, but I'm wondering if there's a place out there that sells bends even tighter than that in a useful diameter.

Ideas?

download the snow catalog and go to page 86. I've ordered from them over the phone a few times, very pleasant and quick shipping.

Most off the shelf prefab tubing is a bit large for our small 2 strokes. I check at a scrap metal places for old furniture, chairs, bed headboards and other tube furniture are not HUGE diameter and some very good tight bends.

Re: Where to buy super tight mandrel bends

i've bought from that mandrelbends.com, pretty reasonable. i also have a hunk of 1" harley handlebars that i've gotten a couple intakes out of... check with a shop that does custom harley stuff and see if they have some take-of bars you can find. The bar i've been using is from a '19 FXDB and they have a couple real nice tight radius bends

You're trying to forward face the carb? That much intake tract is going to hurt your lower range performance. Reeds really like a short intake.

Re: Where to buy super tight mandrel bends

you can get all kinda pre bent copper shorts like 3/4 and 7/8", that's like 19 or 22mm, or get your own copper and bend it yourself. or conduit, bends easy, a bender is like 10 bucks. I've never tried any for intakes but it should work right? I used some copper bits for radiator plumbing and definitely lots of handlebars for headers and intakes etc

^a few years ago, at least, this place had tighter bends than anyone else. Also as previously mentioned, if you need tighter, you need to go with plumbing elbows, like these, but check the actual dimenions, because they are for plumbing and they do not at all match their names:

Shit I have 2 bent handle bars under my shed right now. Never thought about intakes....

Re: Where to buy super tight mandrel bends

Handle bars are around 17mm or so. I usually use a old header. They are usually 21
