I have a sachs 505 moped and it rides well but sometimes I have to pedal fron dead stop to gain some speed. how do i get more acceleration and speed on take off is there some tweaks i can do?

Not to rain on your parade here. But this isn't a problem...most Sachs bikes imported to the USA are 505 1/a engines....dead reliable, but horrible with speed, acceleration, hills etc...
The exception is the 505 1/d, which had a different crankshaft with a longer stroke, and a better cylinder. One of the best stock bikes ever and can hit 40 reliably with a little work.
Sadly due to the clutch design, Sachs bikes can't be kitted or modded for speed as easily as other makes...they just can't hold the power.
Your best bet is gonna be some porting, carb and exhaust work. But really, ur never gonna out perform a 1/D with your engine without tons of work and dedication...
Unless you have a 1/D, in which case imma dummy for posting this...
you can get a little tiny boost by running a thicker oil. SAE30 or SAE50 ND will let your clutch slip a little more than ATF.
of course make sure all your tuning is on point, those square bing carbs can suck on the low end if they aren't tuned perfecto.
there is some clutch tuning stuff posted on here, search for posts, they can be improved slightly but there are no easy fixes when it comes to sachs.
I checked the engine and all it says is sachs 505 1 no letter after that. now what?

Post a pic of the tag and the engine
