Intake resistor Puch 1hp

Hey all!

I was told to pop the intake resistor out, up jet and put a pipe on this thang. In the process but I am having some issues getting the resistor plug out of the top of the cylinder. I tried heating it up and smacking it out of there, no such luck. I guess just manhandle it some more? Any tips would be helpful, thanks!

Throw the cylinder away for there is small exhaust port too, post for a good used 2hp one or get a small kit from treats, metal mesh filter, circuit pipe, gaskets, and some jets, Change 13t front sprocket to 16tooth too

Ya it is not a simple pop out. I love those open transfer kits but they need a lot of work. It is kinda hard to get those out. I use a long punch and beat them out. But as Ken said you have to dreamil a lot to open the exhaust port up otherwise it is really restrictive. Better to get another kit if you don’t want to do all that.

Exhaustport should be the same as the unrestricted ones.

You can't take it out that easy, take the Cylinder off and use a Dremel to remove it, there is a Circlip around it.

It’s tiny tiniest exhaust port one could ever/never want to see!

I know, I scrapped dozens of them over the years though if good I kept the Pistons cause they still will fit whatever number cylinder they’re marked for

The exhaust port on a 1hp is like a little rectangle on the inside of the cylinder

Plus 1hp has a super thick head gasket from the factory

Re: Intake resistor Puch 1hp

You could drill that bitch out.

Ken act like he’s never seen a dreamel.

You can probably port that bitch and make good power.

It’s not me doin it and I would charge someone labor plus bits if I couldn’t talking talk them out of it

Time, Dremel, bits, sandpaper rolls and small files is money, plus you have to know what your doin with plated cylinders,

The outside of port is smaller too, such a waste of time and a big mess all over ya and floor for little gain

If you can’t find a good used 2hp top end on buy+sell for 40$ Or a 50cc kit on the Internet for around 50$ then something is wrong

Nah, not really, at least not with stock Puch Chrome Plating, it doesn't chip off easily. You can put the roughest Grinder to it and it won't chip.

On the bright side you have so much to work with very easy kit to make a triple exhaust port 4 along with some small finger ports and that thing can be a real Ripper.

Are you can take the easy way out like Debbie Downer suggested......

You don't have to be as radical but you can port a triple exhaust like on this kit
