A lot of people go this route, curious is it simply due to a hatred of the Gurtner, or do you see a little more speed? Treats has a new party with an improved intake, I cant decide if it comes with a jet, anyone know what size jet would work best with a stock set-up? My Gurtner works fine, just wondering if it is worth the c-note performance wise? Thanks!
you'll probably gain some speed, i always ditch the gurtner so i can't honestly say how they run or how much gain you get from the dellorto.
SHA is just much more robust, easier parts availability, easier to clean and maintain, all around better design.
gurtners don't cope with performance modifications well
i like to use the dakar version of the SHA with the adjustment screw, they give you a little more control over your midrange fuel delivery and make tuning easier.
They do look simpler, that's for sure, Gurtner is a weird animal, but they have always worked for me, thanks for the input! :) Did you see the new pack that Treats has? Pretty neat! If I don't sell this bike I will prob do it!
The Sha does add a little performance but nothing drastic. The Gurtner is a good carb if you know how to work on them. Plus the Sha will be way louder than the stock Gurtner and air box. I've had and ran both and I love both for different reasons.
