needle bearing fit for stock e50/za50 con rod small end?

Brad William /

Just thinking. It can be done solidly and inexpensively. 10mm wrist pin from treats. SKF 10mm x 14mm x 14mm drawn-cup needle bearing, and a couple of 10mm id x 12mm od aluminum bushings to match the 10mm wrist pin to the puch piston.

Not that complicated really. I priced it all at about 25usd. May require very minor adjustments to the widths of spacers. Easily done. Has this been tried?(edited)

It might work.

I've thought about it.

Ended up making a custom bushing tho. It might be difficult for the needle bearing to get enough lube. Most rods have oiling holes.

But yeah, would love to see it done

Ya I tried something like that but then I had the crank lock up at bottom big end in crank for some za50 cranks don’t even have needle bearings in the big end it’s like a bushing also so I had more failures of stock cranks locking up at the big end then small end bushing go bad.

Best bet is to get a needle Conrod pressed in or Install and ream a new brass small end bushing back in

My friend did it with a different top end on a e50. It basically ate the small end and egg shaped it. Just spend the 80 bucks for a good crank
