E50 falls on it's face at top speed

E50

15mm Bing #52 jet 217 atom needle at leanest

50cc treats with hi comp head

Points at .017" and 16mm before tdc

150lbs of compression

Biturbo (no laughing)

Chops look good nice and chocolate

No air leaks at all o ring on a #1 grandpa intake

Bottom end was redone seals and bearings and all that

Clutch grabs at 4200k (read by a shit tacho I got from Amazon)

Temps are low-mid 300s

Motor totally dies if I give it throttle

If I'm nice and gentle I can get hauling ass down the road and I try to push it to wot it will lose power

I thought it was 4 stroking so threw a #50 jet in it and still sucks. Took off the air filter and it still sucks.

Float is just lower than level when held upside down, really just enough not to overfill.

What am I looking for now?

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Fuel flow?

It's pretty much just low enough not to leak. I might make it leak just to see. Flow from tank to carb is great

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Probably Fred /

50 jet is just way too low you must not be timed right or something cause you should be at 70s (like 78) jet 2nd needle clip with metal mesh filter (stock air box is a no no) and 15mm intake

Yep^^ 52 seems too low bud

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Is it a fucking chines Clone of a bing?

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

If it's a Treats 15-clone you are good but jet it #76- #78 and time it like Ken is telling you...

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Timing is good to go, not done with a timing light, but done with feeler gauges and a piston stop

I thought 50 was low as hell too, but the chops look good. I put a 60 in there to troubleshoot it and is seemed to run worse. I have a ton of Jets so I'll start at 80 and walk it down. Just hoping it's a tuning problem and not something else

Oh and it's a real bing

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

You need a timming light

What’s that rain have to do with anything?

Garage is packed with too much shit and I have to work in the driveway

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Ok, put my shit under a tarp, set timing with timing light, now it's at 16mm which is the farthest I can rotate it. Currently drilling out the stator. I don't have any Jets bigger than 60, except for an 80. Slapped an 80 in and it barely runs but if I get her going it has throttle response for days. I'm trying to work back in head why I worked my jetting down from 60 and the best I can come up with is I was doing half assed plug chops, oh well.

Jets are ordered.

Thanks fellas

16° Shouldn't really be the Problem, little bit more might help, but not by much,

Stop with the plug chopping. Listen to how it runs. Jet accordingly. Then chop away.

Well I've been jetting in the mid 70s, but now it will start and idle when cold, but as soon as it warms up no idle unless I go WOT. I have a #24 slide so I poked a buddy hole through it and maybe it's a little better. Mid range and top end is fucking sweet though.

Timing / gap is on. Maybe a hotter plug with clear it up, I'm running a ngk 7 now

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

that kit likes timing set it to 18 put a NGK 8 or NGK 9 i would start with a 9 jet in the mid 70s

you might need to check to see if the piston is clearing the ports and what your port trimming is its been a long time but i think that kit needed 2 mils of exhaust timing to really get going

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Totally normal JBOT /

52 jet is an idle jet

I'm surprised it even runs at wot with a 52, and you haven't seized

You need to cut the slide to get idle working at higher jetting

Look up bing slide mod.

I did the the mod (3/16" hole), it helped a little.. maybe. Tonight I'm going to keep opening it up since I have another, unmolested slide.

Yeah 52 is pretty low but. Temps were pretty mild too. But then again I never got to go full brapp with it

Learning to tune kicks major ass

Don't do a hole.

Cut the bottom of the slide.

That's where it needs to be done.

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

* wormdirt * /

ok, so sand off the bottom of the slide? No problem.

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Nevermind, am I shaving the part on the left to look the the right?

Yes.

Then richen up the needle

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

It's actually to the left and right in that pic you posted. You're extending that circular depression in the center down on either side, hard to see in the pic but it's there

This part?

Re: E50 falls on it's face at top speed

Correct

Slide mod didn't help. So I put a 1/4" buddy hole in the slide just to see. Still doesn't want to idle after a minute. Rechecked float height. I'm going to go back to basics this weekend and put a new gasket kit/ ring (gapped) fresh plug, rebuild the carb just go full retard with it
