What do you wonderful people of MA think I should do with this one? Mainly talking cylinder type, ignition, drive train, intake side, exhaust side. Let's get some ideas going...
I should mention.. it has a 65cc cast iron metrakit on it and a 19mm phbg.. not sure of the jetting.. points ignition.. and whatever that pipe is.. it has almost no compression, did get it to run and ride. Then died and wont start.
Just want to build it out, and rip..
What's your plan for the Metrakit?
Fix it first - get it running properly then do stuff. If you don't, you run the risk of having too many things changed at once and never tracking down why it wont run. You will then have spent too many monies and sell it to someone on MA who will do exactly what I just said. (edited)
Inspect the cilinder first, i bet it just needs some new gaskets a carb clean and the points set. The pipe is a Proma GP.
That's the plan.. just see what I can do with what's there first.. if it looks promising I'll make it run no problem.. but I know myself and I always have to make it faster, better, new..... haha
Seems pretty solid already. Put a better ignition on it if you care and some fresh rings.
It's a Puch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I will buy the metra if you decide to get another kit
thats a pretty good old school setup, good torque, 45 ish top speed depending on gearing... set it and forget it kinda build.
Wouldn't say it's old School, just an old Cylinder, you want old School? 65cc Torrani with a Metrakit Pipe and 19mm Bing.
haha ok the 'old school' of moped tuning in the USA is 1998-2006, aka 'BT' or 'Before Treats'
Have ya considered a turbo.. it can make up for low compression... ha!

Dude! How did you know I was going to turbo it?!?! They have those turbo kits for gas RC trucks.. I think I can hack it on there and make some real power..
Budget plan;
1 hair dryer.
1extra long ex cord.
1 roll of duct tape.
Done!
Now that's what I'm talking about! Heat the intake side.. no one is doing that!!
Except for Chrysler and a couple of other car Manufacturers.

Yeah, a good one for sure.
I liked the way it pulled in its powerband forsure.. I'll see what I can do with it when I have some time.. if the cylinder is trash.. I'll get a new metrakit 65.. and ditch that carb.. I hate those so much.. haha
Hone it a bit and re-ring it.. na... just slap a new fresh round jug n slug on it.

I'm leaning towards this^^^^^
Hmm build a high exhaust timing build
Athena ajh with alu-plates to raise it 2.5mm. Decked cylinder.
Large ripping exhaust. Maybe not a Simonini has performs poorly with high blowdown like this setup.
19mm+ carb
Ignition with a currrve like a HPI or kokusan ignition with a retarding CDI
Brace the clutch and use blue or yellow or just any stiff stiff clutch springs.
DMP crank. They seem cheap but you see people running 15+ Hp builds on them regularly.
Gear it high like 18x45 and blast all your friends, every ounce of power will be above 7500rpm if not higher but it will rip balls once it’s going ;) (edited)
Yeah, definitely run a head gasket on those kits. "Polishing" the mating surfaces does not mean they are lapped flat.
Lol I lapped them flat. And shined them up for a seal.. how bout dat
