Le Moped Resurrection

So I was given this in rough shape but the more I look at it it's not really that rough. So I been thinking a plan for it for a while now.

Re: Le Moped Resurrection

I decided to go with the 50mm 82ish cc Parmakit build. I'm hoping for a daily lower reving torque monster so I'm going to be running a circuit pipe on this one.

Re: Le Moped Resurrection

I'm getting copper base gaskets made at 2mm thickness to get port timing right. I'm also getting copper head gaskets made without decompression hole because the decompression hole is soooo close to the bore I'm not sure how to plug it without possibly upsetting the bore.

Yes sir the seat is definitely staying! If I can't find the OG seat cover it's going to a upholstery shop to get covered. The foam is still damn near perfect.

Someone switched out the mags, for spokes. Every LeMoped I've seen had gold mags :(

Re: Le Moped Resurrection

I've had this tool for a few years and it's still going strong! If you don't have one and work on Moby's as much as I do get you one. Well worth the $50 imo.

Head bushings installed.

Re: Le Moped Resurrection

So the angle of the carb on Sha polini intake REALLY sucks! So that'll be changed.

Re: Le Moped Resurrection

Meanwhile I'm tweaking the shock variator with new starter shoes, 4 ball guide and ceramic balls. I'm also going gas strut on this one also because I don't feel like fighting the stock spring to line up with the mounting bracket.

IMG_20190223_192707.jpg

Re: Le Moped Resurrection

So this is how far I got. A couple of bolts rung off so I have to order two pins and 4 bolts. I would get a new variator but haven't read anything really good about them so I'm going to rebuild this one.

So I had a 2.75 - 17 laying around and thought I'd try it out on the back and it fits! Got about 1/4" on both sides.

Getter done!

Re: Le Moped Resurrection

So I did this this morning. I got the pins from treatland and they are a little bigger like the comments said. I was able to take a 5/16 drill bit and redrill the he holes and the pins press in nice and tight! Then I flipped it over and brad the back with a hammer. Now to clean her up and assemble.
