So Macho

EH 📣FCC of the QCB /

5 years ago I wanted to build a Rider Macho. Got the decals from Treats. I wanted a Kickstart Gila. Got the kick start from Ty. It was a mess caus his shop got flooded in Winston. I wanted to port it like a Polini like West Seattle Ryan did.

The Kickstart had most of the parts in the box. I was missing the Kickstart arm and one shim. Dylan made me the shim. Was so stoked for that!

I got the Kickstart arm from our prospect Adalfo.

One of our membes Blake wanted to paint it for me to speed up the process. He dropped it off in my yard when it was done. I slapped on the stickers right away.

The next step was figuring out the rear disk. Theron our in house blacksmith helped me fit the pully to the hub.

It takes a village.

I saw a BSA that you had to lift the peg to start it. I stole this idea from that.

I wanted to use an internal rotor but I did not want to run a battery. These 5watt leds work real well.

Re: So Macho

Awesome build looks great!

Re: So Macho

Absolutely stunning. Love itttttt seriously the best looking maxi I've seen in a while. Plus the porting is awesome. And dual discs is great. Shit!

Thanks guys.

Everyone posts repair questions in the general forum, so why not a build post in the buy and sell forum.

Found this pic of the porting after I cleaned up the cylinder and mated it with the bottom end.

Re: So Macho

U never said if it rips?

Re: So Macho

It rips! I’ll try and make a ridding vid later this week.

Wish I had more pictures through the process. Went through like 8 cell phones I’ve the time it took me to build this bike. Too many lost pictures. (edited)

Re: So Macho

That is fucking ace! The only thing I think it should have is the seat done in the blue. Can't wait to see a dick rip vid.

Thanks! I was unsure about the seat too. But it has kinda grown on me.

Re: So Macho

Awesome build .

ps I love the tan seat .

Re: So Macho

holy shit - the colors, the porting; everything im seeing here kicks ass.

Re: So Macho

I love the color scheme

Re: So Macho

Blue seat would be way too much.

Looks good homie

Re: So Macho

Great looking bike!

Thanks guys.

Here is a link to West Seattle Ryan’s blog where I got the idea for porting. That way if any of the newer Peeps on here wanted to check it out. I went just a touch bigger on some of the ports. I wish I would have just made one large window in the piston. Still may take it apart and do that. Wating on some carb stuff from DOS. Should be able to make a quick vid on Thursday evening.

Well that was quick. Those were surflex pads too...ugh

About to tear the parts motor I have apart and take the clutch and clutch bell from it. Going to get my clutch bell tig welded.

Was about to make a video and that happened....

Re: So Macho

I love Macho's!

But wheres's chopper seat? Macho's were the originators of that seat!

Re: So Macho

West Seattle Ryan’s bike used to shred clutches like crazy, but it was fast.

Re: So Macho

Someone spread strawberry jelly all over them clutches. That's not cool.

I love that seat, but did not fit the look I was going for. Plus I had this one sitting around.

@tate I had a feeling it was going to but not after 1mile. I knew I was going to have to brace the 2 shoe, but I did not think about welding the clutch bell. Gator had the same thing happen to his Mag X. This is a motor off of an X. I wonder if these kickstart motors had a problem with the clutch bells.

Also makes me wonder if you can run a KTM clutch with the kickstart plate. I tried to find info and this and could not find any.

I am going to look into that tonight. Also I’ll probably get my backup clutch tig welded.
