It's my understanding that the ethanol works as a solvent to dissolve varnish not create it. Once you get that residual off as long as you keep running blended gas on a routine basis you shouldn't have that problem. In fact it should stay cleaner. Carb/injector cleaners are basically ethanol.
Pure gas still starts to break down after a month or so. In the summer you should go through a tank faster than that. And around here the Winters are longer than that and you need to use some stabilizer.
If it was at the pump and $0.10/L more I might consider pure gas. But I really don't see the point of paying more for fuel so that it can sit for over a month. For frame tanks like the Tomos there's minimal surface area exposed to air so it's really a non-issue.
