Your variation lock cable goes to a finger lever or ???

And , is that about a 2 month gas tank ? ;)

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Hand lever over the left brake.

24mm carb makes it a 120mi tank

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

120 miles ... I thought that capacity would've gotten you a lot farther . But , you're probably ready for a break by then anyway .

Your bike looks like a cobblers dream . To me , that's a good thing . ;)

Wayne says if you liked this, just wait, you’ll get a love boner for the next iteration.

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

He'll never finish it dude.

Never ever.

He needs to just give me that 13port cyl so I can put it on something

DONT CALL ME WAYNE HAHA DONT

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Speakin of things not finished.....His 4 stage variatior is in the works right meow. Says he is going to conceal it and rip dicks.

He’s gonna call you. You know he is.

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Yeah, in the works lol.

20yrs later, in the works.

I'll never understand his love for the idea of concealing mods.

Be out and proud.

I won't pick up the phone wayne

It's 3am and I don't know if Im dreaming or reading @_@ Honest™

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Added an outer support to not allow catastrophic failure of the main pivot bolt. Blackened everything up too.

I did learn something interesting.

A 4L290 belt doesn't equal an AX29.

It equals a AX27 I think. The belts I just got were too long, fuck. Oh well, good to know.

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Changed the rear belt to a 4L260 and finally the tension is tight now.

Wheel all the way forward tho

I bet the 4L270 would be fine if I modded the motomatic rear pulley to close more.

And it's really cool. The bike rides exactly the same as running a single belt, except for the ability to manipulate gearing, which enables much quicker acceleration. If this kit was ported crazy it would be a handful to ride. All I know is my brakes were getting hot from stopping from such breakneck rippage. This shit is thrilling.

This shit is thrilling.

It's what makes it all worthwhile .

It's what keeps us going . ;)

What happened? Did this thread die on the vine?

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Why keep posting when something is done?

I ended up using the ax27 and ax25 for the 2 belts. Shit works good.

Gotta go take it out on some blaster roads to see how it handles sustained top speeds.

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

yes! very cool!

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Modded the rear motomatic pulley to close more, 2 new belts. AX27 and ax25. Fits perfect, with the rear wheel in the middle of adjusters.

With no belt slip it's so much better. Those shit hardware belts slip like Don ohios fingers slip into cold McDonald's apple pies. Fast and furious, with no understanding as to why...but a longing. An incessant need. Because why live if you cannot do what you love.

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

OK, last post for me in this.

Swapped the china pulley off the motomatic pulley to a Yamaha jog pulley (same internal dimensions (24mm OD outer bearing, 25mm OD inner bearing) just cut off the weld and it gets pressed or hammered out.

So the steel plug Motomatic made fit into this jog pulley, I spaced the pulley out farther a bit where I needed it for good belt alignment on the rear belt, then I welded it in.

Funny thing is how much different it shifts now. So much better. Requires a much weaker contra, and honestly it's the best auto-shift I've ever experienced on a moped.

2t vs 4t pulley makes a huge difference.

It's ironic that this all happened cuz I made a manual control, that in working with the prototype discovered better autoshifting.

But fuck it all man.

Not last post at all!!!

Hahaha!!!!

So I added an upshift lever above the main lever. Just a prototype and will thin out later, or change it to a wide flat single pedal. .

Tucks my foot in, and now by pressing back with my RIGHT foot on the other pedal, my left foot goes up, moves the pedal and the gearing upshifts. It feels like I'm kicking backward on a kick scooter with superman legs.. you just race forward.

And I've changed my tuning.

My problem has always been overvariation up on top of the range due to despising what too strong of a spring does to low end, and using race gears contributes to the issue as well.

But now that manual control is a go, Fuck it.

I've got a very very weak spring, and very light weights. Wouldn't work right without manual control.

So what I do is upshift fast manually during 10-40mph, then the rollers and spring are perfect weight to carry me up to the top of variation with no foot involved and no drop in rpm. Kinda backwards thinking but it solves a problem I've had forever, regardless of pulley.

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Redid the upshift/downshift into a single wide footy guyee with a half disc welded to the arm to help prevent any "foot into the variator" accidents.

It's really fun to ride. So many things to test. I've never in my life had a dual variated bike that shifted perfectly in all conditions with a really built setup. Always room for a lil manual control, bubbie.

This is hands down, the funniest shit I have ever read on this website... I literally cried laughing.

Holy fuck.

Maybe if I can get a ride up there

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

first name last name /

Mr JBot with the manual control you can actually run the system with contra assemblies at both ends.

I'm sure you'll figure out a way to get a spring to work on the variator assembly.

Maybe something like three Springs and three rollers?

Maybe a cone spring will do the trick and it will lay flat has the wires thickness when compressed.

Good luck

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

No you can't dummy haha.

Tried it with a hobbit vari.

Cannot upshift when the double sheave rocks forward and slacks the front belt.

To work the spring would have to be a compression spring pushing the front variator open. Then at start up I could force it closed and then once that belt slacked it would open on its own. but as far as springs to keep the variator closed, it does not work as designed. It does function to keep the variator closed though.

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Besides, the system is finally dialed how I like it. Very light weights, very light spring. Upshift when needed (uphill speed, or to lower rpms when cruising)

It's very fun

Re: New dual variated launch lever, brought to you by Crazy Wayne and Jbot

Maybe stronger set of springs. I'll try it
