Why don't you learn proper spelling and grammar before you go criticizing those who are clearly smarter than you

its okay, you can have spelling and grammar. erich will take you in realistic expectations and reaction to constructive criticism

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

i knew what i was getting into with this thread when i saw that frame. this thread does not disappoint.

Thanks Alex. I am from Schererville, IN. That is why I said it. It was the same school system that brings you incorrect grammar and the 70 MPH FA50. At least I graduated with terrible grammar and a sense of reality. When I come home to visit my family in a couple months, I would love to see this 70mph bike in person.

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

This is what happens when we shelter our children.

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

so you're just not even going to acknowledge that insane and obvious lie?

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

sooo hows the project coming? got a progress update?

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Mikey Antonakakis /

Honestly, I am expecting 18mph top speed when he finally does his first test ride. Cold weather isn't a great excuse, first ride doesn't need to be three hours long, 3 minutes would be enough to show that he's got a lot of work to do.

Brent, basically everyone in this thread who is giving you a hard time has been there and done this, many times. One of the most important lessons you can learn with mopeds is to keep your expectations realistic - at the moment the only way you're hitting 70 would involve an airplane or cliff.

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Douglas Binder /

I want to add to this discussion. Brent, I admire you for pursuing this idea. I think you will learn much during the process and that alone should make the journey worthwhile, regardless of the outcome. There are people on the forum with a great deal of engineering knowledge, with Mikey certainly being one of them. Seek them out.

One thing I want to make clear although it has been said before: the laws of physics can't be broken. The power to overcome aerodynamic drag is the cube of the speed. So if you are able to do 60mph with a certain engine setup, to do 70 means you need another 50% more power to overcome the aero drag. You either have to produce more hp, or you need to lower your drag.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you.

That part.... The amount of work those guys put into that thing to go 77 is insane. There is no way an out of the box bike, with little to no mods can go 70mph. I don’t care if you are weightless and can tuck yourself into the frame.

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

I hit 74 GPS'd on that old white GPR and was still in 4th, on that curvy road by the cookie factory next to the ole the Arizona shop. I never pushed it faster. but that had had the Gila 80 and some bobbymods. It mighta gone 80? 74 on that was not a comfortable experience but i'm also kinda a pansy. or at least less into going really fast than others.

but yea stock 50 topend, even derestricted I can buy 70 maybe. Eugene's NS got into the 60's and that's gotta be a less technically impressive engine being 20 years older. but 70 still seems like a huge stretch

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Im gonna say this and I hope it's not too late.

it's OK to make exaggerated claims. Even if you think they're accurate. but you have to admit to yourself after some introspection that yeah maye it's exaggerated. and if you can admit that we're all good and can keep having a discussion and making cool shit cooler

but if you stubbornly stick to your guns and let it decay into a name calling fuckfest, all is lost.

it's totally ok to say, yeah alright really my aprilia's only doing about 65. or ignore the aprilia all together. but also you gotta admit that 70 on a 40 year old 2 speed kids bike is a difficult stretch goal. Most of us fully support your attempt. most of us are also skeptical, based on LOTS of personal experience, of your optimism and chances of success at this first attempt.

THATS OK. can always get better and better. it'll likely take more than you're expecting. in general I think that's the point everyone trying to make.

100% correct, and I 100% agree with the entirety of your reply

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

good to see you guys are still into cool projects.. lolzz upside down fa50? who would want to waste the time?..... Why not make the rs50 faster? a cr125 motor fits nice in there. ;)

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

So first peeps wanted 40 mph then 50 then 60 then 70 out of basically a beefed up bicycle.

Houston we have a problem. Come over to my house , borrow my motorcycle , get ur gps on ur phone going, hit 70 ,slow down , take a screen shot , post it as a moped ride , go home , smoke a big bowl , live to see another day.

Alternatively get that moped to 70, hit a pebble or a ding in the road , get ejected, get dead , downside u don't get to post your exploits.

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

well, it is a fairly natural progression. I mean what keeps us interested in making things better if it doesn't have a benefit or appreciation. appreciation is motivation. that's it.

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

It's not that I don't do.this insanity myself I'll have u know.

Just because we can , doesn't mean we should . ;)

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Fk the FA, whats the status on this bagged s10 Brent?

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

I remember that truck from the s10 forum

Moped’s and minitrucks

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

what's this minitruck, does it fly and travel through time also?

Maybe if his crowdfunding is fully funded it will. shit a body dropped flying S10, how fast would that get me to rallies. avoid traffic and carry mopeds, sounds way better than any FA build.

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Back to the FA build, need some updates on fast it is so far

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Haven't had time to work on it since Feb. Decided to run the Mikuni 24mm TM flat slide carb off the Aprilia

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

Treats parts list of stuff I still need. Might skip the pipe and modify the high-mount Technigas E-NOX RX50/MX50 Pipe from the Aprilia. It's got some nice road rash from my accident

Re: Fastest Suzuki FA50? Hoping to hit 70mph

have we all been taken for a ride on this FA? I mean, you're kidding right?

screen filter and knobby tires? knobby tires are not for a top speed build...
