Re: Fuckin around in the shed

yeah they aren't made to rip hard, i ported an outboard that was made like that, just squared/ovaled off the holes to make the bridges a more constant thickness and raised exhaust a fair bit.

ran well until some scrapper stole it.

our first swoops shared welder had a brake switch button to feed. it was always charged though, even when it wasn't feeding. whatever. worked til we got better stuffs.

youre a maniac tho, good shit.

that engine needs a fan

Re: Fuckin around in the shed

phillips head screws on the cylinder bolts? man' i'd like to punch whoever designed that.

Re: Fuckin around in the shed

haha

the economics of those engines are insane. i work with a few guys from Briggs- they are about 2 blocks down the road from us here- and the stories they tell would blow your mind

that whole engine probably cost less than 5 bucks to make, if they can save .001 on a screw it works out to big money in that industry.

Every bolt on the engine was hand tight! The magneto ignition and points with an 8” aluminum flywheel. It has built in fan blades like a lawn mower engine. I’d like to fit something moped sized to it.

This’ll be good, weld some 6mm coupler nuts to the steel cover plate to attach it.

I was thinking the same about a fan. Cooling fins don't look like much, but i guess you don't need much when your forcing 30 degree air across them in the snow. Run a temp gauge if you're not running the original fan and shroud to see what happens. I ran the fan and shroud on the bike i made, but it was geared for low speed high torque dirt action.

This lighting might come in handy. A harbor freight bump foot switch with a 3 way outlet to turn on the saw and light simultaneously. A 12v wall wart powers 2 LEDs 40mm x 60mm.

I found the saw online. The things I like about it is the variable speed, locking trigger, and it has a square sides to get a clamp on it quick. + NO SPARKS!! :)

Re: Fuckin around in the shed

Nice Firebird. Kinda lost me a bit w/ the beds tho; so you made 2 of em? Got pics of em in action? And whaja make em outta?

Good stuff right here.

Re: Fuckin around in the shed

Anonymous User /

I found the beds on the street. 19:1 linear actuators. Not too powerful but I needs an adjustable moped table. :)

This cable lift has me spoiled.

D5DCF60F-B3A0-4F03-B5FE-478FFE9FD84A.jpeg

It’s also from a bed with 115:1 gearing so it lifts the moped easily. I ran a 1/4” steel cable thru the pulleys and a spool welded onto the gearbox shaft. Based off the $10 bicycle lift from harbor freight but all the cheap pulleys replaced with better stuff.

Re: Fuckin around in the shed

A better pic of the cable.

Hot damn, very nice work. And made from free crap someone else tossed away. Really dig the cable-rig too.
