The forks are worked out. I found a leaf spring from my dads old truck laying in the yard and ran it thru the saw. Drop outs welded on, extra springs set in modified fork cups.
I guess I could put it together.

Shock springs cut off for length. I cut the rings off a couple sets and smoothed the bottoms. The rubber dust boot is in under there. Only the point of the boot is in there upside down. It’s the only part that touches besides the seal so I trimmed it up a little. Looks like I could cut around it with a knife again.
I like cantilever suspensions. If done right, it can virtually eliminate brake dive.
Damn! Luv that welder's mask!
Add a string of lights and you've got an awesome moped christmas tree.
That tank pregnant ? ;)
FuuuuuucK the damn ins. changed the date to meet this brain doc. I told the olady to pull over and grabbed a paint can. Looks like a daily fist full of pills for awhile longer. Fuckers
Fuck it, I’m going to be burning this pile together then. woOHoo SweeT! It’ll be nice to put the thing outside in 1 piece again. I was banging out the rear side cover pieces in anticipation to the dr.visit..
The pipe is on the welding bench too. Prolly 3lbs of wire by the time it’s over with.
Bummer about the Doc delay. More Elvis vitamins for you!! On a positive note, Super stoked it's coming together!!!!
I fuckt around and lined out the yamaha cdi stator. Sprayed it to mark the sumbich after I finished. There is a sheet plate cut out to match the pattern, behind the aluminum. It’s attached by threading some 4mm holes thru to the 5mm steel. While the tap was out, I ran it thru the decomp exhaust. Clogged that up,. I spun it by the flywheel a few times. It has some nice chugalugg
One of the cool things today is that I finally found the flywheel nut.
Is that some kind of color tune on the HT wire or is it just a disco thing for night flashing ?
if that ignition is like i think it is, you can flip the guts of the pickup for more advance
Ah . I'm thinking the main advantage would be to test the plug in use and under compression . Of course , it would also confirm electrical transmission or not .
I thought it might be some variant of the Gunson Colortune :
Another neat tool^ .
my question was on the bottom pivoting piece of the forx
it doesn't wanna let me link to your photo
gotcha, I was just amazed at how you had somehow found a part that worked so perfectly as a pivot arm but they were made for that purpose. perfectos
Chindaha Chop Suey Rignition
I’ve wanted to check it out for a few years, the Urban stator flipped out of the can and bolted onto the case. The Yamaha flywheel fits good in place, centered and attached with the timing lined out. That chunk that I had built before was a restricted cdi poopy. Run a little wire, check a little spark later.
I had her drive over and buy some bugle head 6mm to flush the plate attachment bolt heads. That helped a buNcH! The 4mm screws ive been using to mock it up will be replaced with a 6mm coupler nut. The damn coupler nut is the exact fucking length! 11/16”. I likey! Weld 2 of them to the steel back plate as the stator stansions.
