Amazing \m/ Honest™

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

Just did this mod on a PP/PR clutch bell. Haven't had time to swap it onto a running bike yet but fitting on a spare bottom end looks real promising.

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

there's a kit on ebay now for 40 bucks. fits well works well.

One Way Bearing

Here's a video of me installing it. Get you one!

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

Gonna do a derbi kit also?

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

I didnt make the kit, but the guy said he was working on a flatreed one!

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

It is very simple to make a universal version which works on both derbi and hobbit.

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

So how exactly would be the derbi version of this kit differ?

Like, If you bought this hobbit kit, whats stopping you from using it in the hobbit version ebay kit thing-a-mahbob?

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

I've got Nate's on my mutant hobbit and just grabbed that eBay kit for a possible water cooler revision of my stocko shocko. It is freaking amazing. Could this theory work on a variated vespa. That would make the mlm water cooled head for vespa make sense.

Could work for vespa, probably easier than hobbit as well. Just find a one way version of the rear clutch needle bearing.

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

I have a few spares and will attempt it

This one way bearing is so freaking cool. It really just goes in one direction. It's so strange to feel it. It's absolute. No slop. Yea it's new.

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

Can this spacer work on a paper 50 1 set up?? I was saving it for a future water-cooler pa 50 2 but I could just pop it on my stockcoshocko which is set up with a part 501 crank and variator. And get the Puch head.

While on the one way bearing jag , im wondering about vespa one waydom! There are two roller bearings in each unit. One on each end. Might need to take both out to replace even one. Wondering if two one ways or just one is in order. I'll probably start a new post. The best reason to do this that I can think of is to go for the mlm water-cooler head. If u think a hobbit head sucks u ought to try getting a verspa kit to run cool at wot . Otherwise not a super motivation for a one way bearing other to say u did it. The one without the lock washer would be my first victim. Any body press out those bearings ?

Marc,

They're just drawn cup needle bearings, they press out fine. The problem is you're going to have to hunt down the right one-way bearing, which I don't think exists.

You could do watercooled with this, but there's also pull start and kickstart options you can get to avoid start shoes.

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

Yup to the above. Before disassembly im going to try and find such a one way beastie

Re: hobbit one-way bearing spacer

Give up on this foolish pipe dream. These one way tinkertoys don't work. Pedal start is the only answer. Perhaps a length of twine on some sort of spool that could be grunted upwards in a brisk motion is the answer.

Lets all stop this subhuman speculation.

the ebay kit for PP and for Hobbit are exactly the same, but the Flatreed seems to be the same but has some washers to make up for the bushing not being quite long enough to clear the threads for pressure from the nut.

if you put this in your pa1 bell just get a stuffy crank and it'll bolt up perfecto
