Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Maitland Of the Loin /

So......

who would be interested in one?

Currently testing initial parts right now fitment/clearances and such and waiting to do some road tests very shortly, but pending those tests should be ready to go.

Malossi 4 petal will bolt straight on to it and kick out to the left (or right).

Feel free to ask questions too

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

maybe?

anything to reduce the generous amount of fuel spouting out of my carb onto my leg and bike would be beneficial.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Id test it out, I have like 3 or 4 Polini'd v1's, hit me up!

without doing anything to your cylinder it certainly will reduce the gas-foot that plagues us all

I'll probably mail a couple out for more user testing but look for these for sale soon?

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Would need a window in the piston, but I tossed around the idea a bunch as well.

Major restriction is the transition from the reeds to the intake port. Would need something like a velocity stack to smooth out the airflow, or else you get pooling of mix near the corners of the reeds.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

I am interested.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

This got me thinking. I wonder how well these would work? Made for crappy china bike engines and they would need a bendy intake for a V1 application and possibly new reed material but it may be a good place to start.

Bolt on kits wood be rad I used this ( http://www.maxiscoot.com/kit-admission-big-valve-mxs-racing-stage6-highflow-system-mbk-booster-bw-s-ms-pkmmxs010-1.html ) to make mine and then made two adaptor plates and a bunch of porting

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

been thinking about trying this , interested in result information ..

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

I am excited about this. simple piston mod and adding a boost/aux port on a polini should result in some awesome gains.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

always wondered if u could add reeds to a pp cyl. just got a polini so count me in if anything develops. interested in seeing what kind of boost ports u guys are cookin up

I did do that

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

gas leg... so lame

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Another seemingly cool product. I want to hear and see the results.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Anyone have anything to report?

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

I snagged a set and a 80cc BRN, but also bought a house at the same time. I am about a month out of putting it all together. I will update with pics when I do!

excellent, I'm excited to see the results, will you be cutting boost ports in the piston?

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Get that fucker running already

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

I am not 100% sure exactly what I will be doing yet, but I will be removing material from both the piston and cylinder. I have been reading up on airflow behind the piston and around the rings to increase cooling and reduce ring flutter. Going to try it on a stock cylinder first because I don't want to brick the BRN.

In the meantime, just got new carpet and we are now mostly moved in! next task is getting the garage functional so I can work on my bikes.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

That suckers gonna rip.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

your porting looks like a dude with his arms up.

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

I only port in recognizable shapes.

Pat Norris came through with a set of rare ass variator springs for the v2

firing it up as soon as those bad boys come in

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Make sure you confirm ring gap is good.

You washed out the cyl really well ya?

Can't wait to see what it can do.

You get squish round .8?

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Measure the springs, might be able to find a crossover

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

Maitland Of the Loin /

Washed that shit out like I was going to make sweet love to it

ring gap is good, gonna run 1 ring (my lady distracted me and I broke the other ring lol)

I had 2 good springs, so I sent em out to folks to scavenge the world for them, so if I can get replacements I will make sure to treat you all

Re: Minarelli V1 Polini reed valve adapters

One ring in a polini is good! I do it with all of them, it makes them so much easier to start and you have a spare ring!
