Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

Re: Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

Probably Fred /

Polini kit was designed to use a stock puch Maxi high torque head not a hi compression head .

If you don't have one post for good used one on buy+sell

Re: Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

I got one, but if I'm looking to upgrade to a bigger carb, should I go to a 70 cc instead?

No it's worse

The piston was designed to fit up into the high torque head

Re: Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

In your mind, why would putting on a larger carburetor necessitate adding a cylinder head cut for a 70cc cylinder onto a 64cc cylinder? Just curious as to the reasoning,

Re: Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

Cut them fins...

Re: Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

Totally badass! Gonna have to suggest that for my friend's build!

Re: Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

How can you tell a "Hi Torque Puch Head" from a "regular" Puch head?

With correct intake you don’t have to cut any head fins but slight trim on cylinder fins if you go 4petal

Their painted black

this is the best one, it is actually cut to take the stepped polini head into consideration using a CNC lathe. but its out of stock, sorry.

Looks to be a smaller combustion chamber with a wider squish band than the 'performance' version .

Re: Best head for 64 cc polini kit?

Put a 'cool' Dio polini 4 pedal reed kit & 'cool' MLM 21mm intake for PHBG and get ripping power with sidebleed estoril... And the $13. reeds surprised me with great idle and all the way through the RPM range but I keep the rrrs down under 9500...

the problem with all of the 'off the shelf' heads is that the polini has that damn stepped piston that makes it hard. its designed to work with the stock head but depending on what head you use there can be a 3-4mm squish gap.

another good option is to use the 50cc hi-hi head but space your base gasket way up to get a 1+ mm squish but you will end up running super retarted timing that turds out your low/midrange

Sand the stock maxi high torque head of any type flat, because it will block the decomp hole that the Polini kit still puts in there for some ungodly reason,

Head sanded flat,

Throw the Stock single reed away (or mod it) run 2 stage or other reeds,

15 MM bing around 88-90 jet w 217 atomizer/needle jet, One clip or more rich on the needle with estoril or circuit pipe type pipe and you got over 7 hp down low,

No super expensive clutch, no pull start, no straight cut gears fancy needle bells fancy clutches, no HPI ignition, no nothing needed,

I can’t believe how many people spend $2000 on a e50 nowadays and mine are still running great from over a decade ago and go just as fast or almost just as fast with all these new aftermarket crap parts and I could take my bikes anywhere without exploding!
