Brakes

Ryan Quinn /

My front disk brakes on my tomos Streetmate r seem to squeel a lot. Is it worth it to buy new brake pads or should I just apply some sort of anti squeel paste for the pads?

Re: Brakes

That paste goes on the back side of the pads.. they are cheap, just get new ones.

Re: Brakes

I don't know what is available for your ped, but sometimes a different brand or compound pad may make a difference.

Most people completely neglect their disc brakes, especially on MCs. The caliper needs cleaning and it's not a bad idea to bead blast the pads to freshen them up. The anti squeal paste is put on the back side of the pads, but if everything is real clean you may not need it. Cleaned pads, by the above method, make them work their best. Obviously the disc needs to be free of any grit or oily substance.

tiny dab of olive oil.

Re: Brakes

tine dab of THC wax, apply brakes and waste heat should vaporize wax causing rider to experience a euphoric sensation from the vapor if inhaled.
