Minarelli V1 BRN 90cc head clearance issue

Kyle McDermott /

I have a minarelli v1 that I have a 90cc brn cylinder and head I installed on. I already case matched the cylinder to the case. Now when I rotate the engine the piston comes into contact with the head and I'm not sure what my next step should be

more base gaskets

I'm totally new to this but have the same issue. I was under the impression that adding base gaskets messed with the port timing though right? And what is case matching?

Re: Minarelli V1 BRN 90cc head clearance issue

Case matching is when match your jugs ports to the cases ports for more power/flow. More base gaskets will raise your port timing, taking away from your power at lower rpm's, but will make more power at higher rpm's. Anywhere from .8 to 2mm squish is acceptable. You use some silver solder or play dough on your piston, rotate engine over by hand, measure the dough or solders thickness afterwords.
