Identifying Horsepower on Puch Maxi

I'm really sorry for asking this pitiful question and if you don't want to facepalm yourself than I understand if you hit the back button now.

I just got a stock 1980 Puch Maxi - S and I am trying to determine how man horsepower this thing was manufactured with. I have seen several places that the Puch Maxi was manufactured in a 1, 1.5, and 2 horsepower model which allows the bike to run at 20, 25, and 30 mph respectively, but I can't seem to find out which models where manufactured with what amount of horsepower.

I figured that there would be a chart somewhere that listed what year/model Maxi's where stocked with what amount of horsepower, but I can't seem to find that info anywhere.

Is there a quick way to tell where my 1980 Maxi - S falls in the spectrum.

Thanks and sorry again for the ignorant question.

I did look through here but couldn't find what I needed. What article are you referring to? I might just be missing it.

All models had all horsepowers 1-1.5-2hp and all speeds 20, 25 and 30mph

It goes by cylinder, intake restrictions and carb # jets size, atomizer and gearing.

Your not reading all all there is to know about puch.

Re: Identifying Horsepower on Puch Maxi

Oh gotcha. Sorry man I was under the impression that the 1.5 and 2hp models were the same, but with restrictions, but I thought that the 1 hp model was different all together. I didn't realize that all three used the same parts.

Thanks for clearing that up.

No 1hp is a different horribly restrictive cylinder and if a 1hp za50 the internal gears are different too.
