I have a 1972 Puch Maxi S original.
I am going to change the cylinder from 50cc to 60cc.
The original 14mm Bing carb i have on have a 66 jet.
Do i need to upjet my carb for the 60cc cylinder?

Don't even bother changing to 60cc if you don't change to a performance pipe and filter. usually when you make a change you will have to upjet
A mild kitted puch with a performance pipe and filter usually runs around a 72 jet that's if you're running a 222 atomizer
Im just planning to change to a 60cc cylinder and a exhaust. But just heard that is also a good idea to use a bigger jet when upgrading the cylinder
Running on a 72jet now. Should i also change to a mesh type air filter?
Fitted a 70cc cylinder btw
You must have done something right if the bike has been running for the last 4.5 years . ;)
Yes, you need to upjet...stock pipe, expansion chamber...doesn't matter..if you don't you will seize your engine...
Edit- woah, timewarp. How is it running? If ur getting good performance I'd keep the stock filter. (edited)
It runs well.
This project has been on hold for a white, but getting back in it now.
Running on a 70cc cylinder With a 72 jet on the 15mm Bing carb.
Other than that It is original.
Or, had to change the front sprocket for one Bigger to calm it down when pushing top speed.
Runs at ok revs in 55 km/h. Can push to 60km/h, but then it screams a bit
must be a language discrepancy, "stock" means untouched 50cc top end, cylinder and piston, original
