Aftermarket Carb Advice.

Joey Zaciewski /

Any suggestions on an after market carburetor for my 2005 Tomos LX

-Has a Tecnigas Next exhaust if that helps at all.

The little thing gets up to a whopping 35mph on it's top end and Im looking to gain a few more mphs before going with a 70cc kit.

You should be at 40+mph. Your not jetted correctly or gear correctly please correct those two issues

I have a 58 jet in the carb right now.

Stock gearing.

What number would you recommend?

Re: Aftermarket Carb Advice.

low to mid 60's

Re: Aftermarket Carb Advice.

The jet size that gives you proper plug chops.

26x24 gear

Around 60/low 60s jet

Run a head temp gauge and keep head temps 380 f or less

Google plug chop

I just got a mixed package of 60's and 70's jets.

I have a 64 jet in the carb right now so next I'm looking at different sprockets.

That 26x24 gear that Ken put down, which is the 26 referring to the front or rear?

Re: Aftermarket Carb Advice.

26 front, 24 rear.

Re: Aftermarket Carb Advice.

1st number is always first in ratio, 26/24 or 1.083 to 1, seem high.
