I don't know what the fuck anymore so here's some shit from my folder called "hobbit shit". Most of this shit is shit I haven't tried yet. Seriously, this is some fo'reals R&D type bullshit. Shit.
(I just learned how to swear.)
I'll probably post to this thread if I remember / make more things. I have no idea if this stuff will work but I plan on trying it probably pretty soon.
First up, we haveeee... A new hobbit stop light. For this recipe of awesome you'll need:
10x LEDS (OVLEW1CB9)
* These fuckers are bright
* Like 35,000mcd (35 candles bright)
* They're 5mm in diam
* 20ma forward current so you don't know what the fuck anymore
* 3.2 forward v, watch out, I think that's enough to give someone an erection
* What do I look like, radioshack?
* 1/4watt is fine.
* I odn't know a bunc of 180ohm res. Look at the schema.
14x LEDS (VAOL-5GWY4)
* Not as bright as other shit
* Good for looking cool or something
* 30ma forward current
* 3.5v forward
What the fuck my cat is now on my bed. Okay cool. You can chill here and look at my moped. Yeah. I know.
if you don't know what you're looking at, that's cool. it's basically a pcb measured and carefully made into a shape that I think will fit inside the tail light housing for a stock hobbit. If I'm wrong, I've traced the tracing far enough away that I can do some drilling without any harm. This is a two layer pcb with polyfill copper grounding planes.
The center row of leds are your super-fancy high power leds, the rest are the lower power leds. This takes in vcc+ on the top two rightmost pins at 12v. The left pin at top is gnd. rightmost is vcc+ at 12v for stop light.
this board is not protected from ac. So if you attempt to make this, please don't put it directly to your alternator. rectify it. or it will explode.
I'll upload some gerbal files or whatever they're called and my eagle files once I've finished cleaning them up. likewise, I'll start adding some posts of other circuits I'm working on now that I've tested them somewhat. voltage rectifier that I keep talking about and regulator.
if anyone has any suggestions, shoot. I didn't know where else to put this. (edited)
