puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Jonathan Feldman /

so i put the 47mm airsal " eurokit "on my korado e50.

only maybe... 50 miles on it so far.

anyway, im only hitting 47 mph ( speedtracker )

im just a lil confused why im not passin' the 50 mark.

like it feels great at all rpms , no questionable noises / surges

but i'm just not gettin the insane eurokit power that has been followin' it since its release last year.

im not complaining im just wondering what would cause this.

it sort of feels like it hits a wall around top speed and should rev a tiny bit higher but doesnt.

anyway, here is my set up. maybe im spacing on something?

16 / 38 gearing

21 phbg w/ hacked stock puch pipe intake

simonini pipe

stock points ignition timed at 16 degrees~

case matched

rito crank

2mm gasket paper used for base gasket

stock ports ( didnt raise / widen any of the ports )

maybe its having trouble flowing the simonini without porting? maybe the rings arent fully seated yet? maybe the stock point ignition sucks my shaft?

i really dont know. if im missing something, please tell me.

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Can you give more details like pics of casematch and other parts used...If your not really broke in don't push so early and when you get more miles if temps are still low enough bump the timing up some more but be patient....

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Your not hitting the powerband of your simo pipe

Gear lower 16x40 maybe,

Not jetted correctly.

Could be Overheating because of not retarding points ignition

Run a temp gauge so you know too hot (lean, too hi of timing) or too cold (over jetted)

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Simo hits high, 47mph is only 8500rpm.

Shorter gearing is a must. 16/40 or 42

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

You could try another strategy by using the torque of that kit and get a low RPM pipe and lower the gear ratio like midnightgold and tackle it from the other end....

Best bet ^ for a hot running points ignition

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Jonathan Feldman /

well the case match by no means was perfect but i think it definitely was sufficient ( if my opinion is worth anything ).. i know it is a bit early in the game for full out blasting. but shit ive already done a buttload of heat cycles n it feels good.

i know im not runnin hot cause im runnin a temp gauge and my MAX TEMP was 326 goin up a steeeeeeeeeeeeeeep hill. last night ( given, it was a lil colder out ) i did miles of WOT ridin' and it stayed just a tad underneath 300 or at 300.

awwwwww! you guys are makin' great sense!!! i put a fairly tall gearing with a pipe that hits stupid high. silly me!

i guess my last question is.... with the eurokit. whats the ballpark estimate of where it SHOULD stop revving rpm wise? like i know its veryyy dependent on the pipe. but like whats a good estimate of where the eurokit should stop if it was dialed in right? 9.5k? 10? a tad over 10k?

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Depends on pipe. Keep going down with gearing til you can feel the pull at 9-10k. It will hit pretty hard.

16/40 will probably do it if you're not a fatty.

If you're bigger, maybe 16/42?

You could be over jetted making for cold head temps and no power

List your jets/sizes and atomizer

uhhhhhh

no clue what atomizer ( gonna assume its a 262 )

45 ide ( needa downjet to a 42 or so )

94 main

w7 needle one clip down from top.

surprised im not runnin a larger main but anything above 94 would fourstroke. at wot / close to wot. (edited)

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

with a simonini it should rev probably up around 11k if the exhaust timing of 175° is correct.

No clue?

Get a clue because if your running a 264 atomizer then too rich

Many times on a piston port kit a 260 is better.

Also you may be four stroking at above 94 jet now but when the pipe hits you may run lean.

My simo hit at like 8,500-8,750rpm and then went to near 12,000 rpm.

Not street like at all, hard to set up a clutch for and hot running with points ignition,

I run estroils, destroyers and bk100 pipes now

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Jonathan Feldman /

UPDATES

dropped to 15/38 instead of 16/38.

went ridin'...... 44 mph. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU KIDDING ME THIS IS BULLSHIT

then i was like yooooo lemme try below WOT.

zzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZOOOOOOOOOM!!!! 49 mph. at a whopping 358 temp

i suppose im rich on the main, not rich enough to fourstroke but too rich to properly rev out.

i tried keepin it under wot n hittin the powerband and when it hit i slammed wot n it lost speed / rpms.

so im gonna downjet to 92 main.

i honestly really get what youre saying.

this pipe seems like its a bit on the ridiculous side.

total piece of shit on the low end but dude once it hits... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

EXCELLENT!

Also because this is not made for a moped, the base spacing is off, so id check that as well for proper port timing. I chimed in on that thread that was made about this kit, also not being a reed kit, it doesn't rev out all crazy with limited intake duration.

You got that backwards piston port kit can rev way higher than a reed Kit at least in theory.

A reed kit can have more low end given reed thickness .

Not to say a reed kit can't rev with thicker reeds it's just with no reeds it can rev higher.

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

Ok this thread has a guy running a 2mm base and 92 main.

Original thread has .5-.75 base and 105 main.

There's a bit of variance here...

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

^that's because we all tune differently.

What compression you want, full setup, and port timings all have to do with it. There's no one specific correct answer so stop asking. Just put it on and find out for yourself.

dude this is still alive? i seized that shit days ago. dont go to a rally in a diff state, regear and dont rejet, word.

High power big carb air cooled High rpm set ups with points ignition seize all the time .

Cdi Hpi ignition with a curve or water cooled is the answer.

Detuned Low timed estroil/circuit pipe set ups can work on points ok but balls to the wall setups need retard/curve ignition

Re: puch eurokit not flyin' to the moon?

i run a 85 main with a 2mm base and 18x40 and its been rippin tuff for a while, different strokes for different folks..
