WHAT!

so like you can hoseclamp the little spigot mount end where the airfilter normally goes

like this:

2 ways - 1st Itook out the little centering pin from a bing, drilled a hole in the other side and set it in there so you can just turn the slide the other way, and baddaBING! it works

OR i also found this other identical sized slide, i think from an encarwi maybe, or possible a phva. it's gold. it's the same size & all but the groove for the centering pin is on the other side, so slide it right in and BING bang boom, you gotta reverse running bing. (edited)

Here is what I did before:

I cut a intake in half then clamped it in the carb and made it into a spickot mount .

I used it as a test carb on many a bike

Same here. Great way to get a normal carb on a Sachs 505 1a motor. Shoot it straight out the side.

why? because I don't want to spend money anbd have an a55 intake on there and no spare carbs except bings and random weirdo stuff that I have no jets for. and some shas.

i've done the thing where you cut a piece of handlebar and clamp the clamp-on carbs to that, then use a hose & clamp to mount. always been curious if you could just flip a bing. you can.

it's funny you ask. I have the cheapo CDI stator but had no magneto so I put the stock points magneto on the CDI stator, and it runs! somehow the split in the magnets or something is enough to trigger the pulse.

BUT! about 1/2 the time it fires at the wrong time, like just after TDC and so it'll run backwards.

So yes, occasionally it does in fact have reverse.

I accidentally timed my pug wrong and it ran backwards! even went for a short backward ride just to be silly, i couldnt figure out WTF was going on, but the Ol' le-partie needed lapping in per the wiki

depending on the moped you could prob do reverse carb too! lisdexic!

yea if you just start a motor in reverse it'll often run ok in reverse.

theres a video of bobby riding a gpr revers and doing stop-wheelies (like reverse stoppie?)

the saab 2 stroke cars used to just start the motor in reverse to go in reverse.

Regardless, has very little to do with reverse carb. just thought it might be an interest worthy idea.

Round bings fit right on 505s without an issue.

also the pin that aligns the slide is just that, a little pin. it goes in a groove on the side of the carb so that the inlet side stays lined up as it moves up & down. so i pushed it out, smeared some jb weld over the hole, drilled a matching hole on the other side and put the pin in there. then the slide does the exact same thing it ever did, except faces the other way. WAM! took like 5 minutes maybe?

I also found a slide that just had the grooved slot on the opposite side and that also worked. there's no other difference in directionality (except the choke i guess but i dont need dat)

You could also cut a groove in the other side of the slide right, maybe with a hacksaw or thinner blade?
