peugeot gas strut pics?!?

campeona del mundo /

i know a lot of people are running gas/nitro shocks for their engine tension spring on peugeots/mobys. anyone have some pics of how they've made them pivot properly with the motor? i'm doing one of these on my peugeot to replace my current doppler spring since it's too stiff and just wanna see what other people have done.

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

here is what mine looked like

rad!!! thanks man. i think i'm going to make some sorta linkage so i can drop it into the existing doppler mounts i have. what lb rating are you running? 20? 30?

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

i think i end up with 40lbs.

cool, you're running which cyl? im running a high rpm 50cc setup so i think i'll try out a 20lb and see how it likes that.

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

will,

i ran, 15.15 clone 77 bride kit, 2 big pedal clone tmmp reed kit, rmz cdi with blue box. nothing special.

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

Only thing I could find was a 80#

ok, thanks ed. i'll get a 20 and 30 lb to check out. should be appropriate for my setup. i went down from a tm24 to an amal 15 due to miserable gas mileage and cop problems and lost a bit of power (of course).

last question! what length? im looking at a 7.5incher (edited)

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

Just curious will got a pic of that tm24 mounted on your 103

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

Got a pic of that Amal 15 mounted on your bike ?

Fuck this 19mm I have. I have to keep fuel with me at all times. I think I'm getting around 60mpg, but it doesn't always add up that way. I'm thinking about a 15mm PHBG or the 15mm Amal.

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

I was using a 60lb shock on my hobbette. a little stiff and wouldnt variate until you were going about 35. With a kit on it it would have been perfect.

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

if ya got the 19 phbg rockin,

just slip a 15-16 phbg..... still have great throttle response, just way better mileage...

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

happy to help! will! Good Luck with the pugs!

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

60lb sounds sweet.

i have a rigid 103 :)

the only problem is im running a 45 main jet and its a tad rich. other than that, it still rips sooooooo hard! i had the amal lying around from a raptor kitted bike that rodney sold so i thought i'd slap it on.

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

nice will!

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

So jealous of most of that bike.

thanks man, yeah it's a rad bike! handles kinda shitty. much better once i threw some pro taper bars i got for free on it....still the seat position is too far back for me.

the seat needs to come forward a few inches...im trying to decide if i should cut the seat post to accommodate it but i don't really wanna mess up the frame. i may just put the seat on my wall and get a single seat as it will be sooo perfecto feelin

^ PM'ed

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

Nice!! The seat and pedals are perfect on there!! Using that extra carb room on the rigid too ;)

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

Will, what intake did you use to get that carb out from under the frame?

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

i used a weakends ajh intake cut down suuuper short. popped it on the drill press and made 4 new holes to match the polini case intake bolt pattern. worked meh..24 is raaad on it but the gas mileage was miserable...plus blowback all over my foot and barely any room to get to the launch lever. i'll weld up a better intake and try it again or just get a 17.5 phbg and call it a day.

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

did you have to make a customs bracket for the rigid ?

pic if you can

Re: peugeot gas strut pics?!?

I love that gas struts on french bikes is a thing now.
