Stock with a pipe in progress.
First impressions with about 40km on it are good but there is work to do.
- Much higher engagement rpm than with stock first gear. blue springs
- Much smoother
- You will need to get a 2nd gear done, or be prepared stiffen up the spring in second.
With my stock worn spring second gear it's engaging too early because of the jump in rpm engagement. The take off is better, but I now have small power dead spot during the shift because I'm shifting into second without as much momentum/speed as I usually do, 2nd has to struggle a bit to get back into the rpms.
Getting the two clutches to work together seems like with will be a bit of trial and error trying to match the springs to get both gears to shift right.
Having a hammer on second will be much easier I think.
I will make some video's later tonight or tomorrow weather permitting. I meant to do it on the ride to work, but couldn't find the battery door and frame mount for my gopro.
I'll do some videos of my used stretched springs, probably a new oem green on second, and then I'll probably have to start cutting a spring until it feels good.
Tonight I'll probably get a good, out of the box and ride video, I can tweak after I've made a baseline video.
I'm curious, has anyone else done this spring mod and had things survive well?
