It does. It was a pain in the ass to get everything lined up, but in the end it was worth it.

Some close up pix would be nice.

Re: Snowflake Disc Brake - DIY w/PICs

I had a small build thread on the bike.

The rear brake was a pain in the ass, but worth it in the end.

I’ll take a couple better ones when I pull the bike out later. (edited)

Nice!

I am building a grande-based bike that needed a front snowflake disk, so naturally I wanted to try this.

We able to find a 220mm rotor that fits the GM idler pulley perfectly. Now I have to just press everything together.

Thanks thought so. This is the biggest one iv'e found that has a small enough bolt circle for mounting. It's actually perfect. Don't tell anybody else.

Re: Snowflake Disc Brake - DIY w/PICs

That is a nice rotor! Hands down best mod to a moped. Something about being able to stop is awesome.

I was just gonna "get by" with snowflake drums, but I really want to be able to stop this grande/sacre project which will actually require brakes unlike most of my mopeds.

Re: Snowflake Disc Brake - DIY w/PICs

Re: Snowflake Disc Brake - DIY w/PICs

Ok anyone here did this conversion to FA50 49cc ?

Re: Snowflake Disc Brake - DIY w/PICs

Read the thread.

If the brake hub is 90mm then you can do it

No, but probably because the stock FA50 forks have no area to mount a disk, and even if they did their design is highly prone to flex and therefore not ideal
